First night in, in four nights.

Good for you. Doesn't answer my question though.

Went to the gym - then home to watch to the Spurs v Liverpool game.

That's kind of you - you took time out of watching a game between two clubs you don't support to come on a forum for another club you don't support to post things about former players of one of the original clubs you don't support. Good use of a Tuesday evening IMO.

Yep - and you come on General Football to comment on teams you don't support.

To try to offer a solution to this conundrum that clearly keeps Kes awake at nights.

Most pundits are British/English. Perhaps in an attempt to recapture their past glories Liverpool have tried more British/English players over the last 20 years with relative but not ultimate success than most other teams. Carragher and PhiLOL Thompson aside, none that pop up are really one club Liverpool men. The likes of Murphy and James spent more time playing away from Liverpool than for them.

Players like Owen and McManaman are quite unique within current pundit circles as they've played not only for Liverpool & England but also cover for the Manchester clubs as well as Real Madrid.

The likes of of Hoddle, Souness and Wilkins (before he got done for drink driving) were regular pundits for similiar reasons I'd imagine. There's a double Chelsea connection there too and you can triple that if you throw in Gullit who regularly (or at least did) do Champions League for Sky.

Also don't Ferrer and Scott Minto also head up alot of La Liga coverage?. More Chelsea bias?

Or it could just be Agent Incest.

But we're talking about the Premier League. Not La Liga.

Come on Kes, don't go all Frmmers on us. You're better than that.

I don't think you've quite grasped it.

There are more ex-Liverpool players currently in high profile media jobs over any other team. It's not an argument, it's a fact.

Not sure anyone else can move them when you've taken them home with you.

I know I'm just a naive fool but you've disappointed me here Kes you really have.

I'm sure Chelsea, for example, would be better represented if they 'd been any good for more than 10 - 15 years and hadn't built the success they've had almost exclusively on foreign imports who've gone home or into coaching.

Very hypocritical to say this and defend the tv companies for their choice of ex - Liverpool pundits, seeing as you're pro-immigration.......

Erm... what?

sandman In 10 years time there will be more Chelsea players on your telly kes. Right now no one cares about the opinion of a player who played for Chelsea Pre-Abramovich when the club were not successful.

This is basically what i said yesterday

So, how do you explain Neil Mellor, David James, Jamie Redknapp, Robbie Fowler, Danny Murphy etc? Hardly in the higher echelons when it comes to winning trophies are they? Your argument stands to reason if Liverpool were represented by more successful players.

If I want someone's opinion on the Premier League, I'd rather have an opinion of someone who has won it, such as Neville or Henry.

I'd rather have the opinion of someone who's good at being a pundit regardless of how successful they were at kicking a ball. Also, you don't have to win a title to be a great player, and winning a title doesn't guarantee you're a great either.

Jesus Christ that Kes bores the pants off me.

Sad but thing is, like his Morrisey and RattLOLed posts that have gone on for the last bloody decade, he'll still be doing the Liverpool pundit sketch in the year 2025.

Is he OCD by any chance?

It's almost like they're contracted to BT isn't it?

You must have been delighted with MOTD though, with the thrilling insight of PNev and Keown

How many times did Robbie Savage mention his Fletch & Sav show during commentary today? I can't believe BT have got more games in the new deal
