Good draw for The Dragons, should see them into the first round proper.

... if the Magpies can edge past Gosport in their replay this week, they have quite a promising tie too - away at STEP05 Willand way down the M5, about half way between Taunton & Exeter.

Went there a couple of years back when they put Tredders' ertswhile faves Falmouth out of the Vase 3rd Round on a real swamp of a pitch.

RE Current deluge - tonights' Hellenic Floodlit tie at the Gore between Burnham Ressies and Shrivenham is postponed.

... as was the game at Stubbs/Hill Farm in the same competition Binfield v Ab Utd

...doesn't bode well for getting out tomorrow if we keep getting this much damp stuff..... :(

Chertsey 0-7 Windsor

Awesome performance from Windsor tonight.

Mick Woodham and Tony Thompson have a team / squad now that are developing a style which looks capable of steamrollering most teams in the league. The pace, determination, passing and fitness plus the constant urgings from the bench to "get the ball back" and "pass the ball" all the way to the 90th minute produced a hugely dominant performance.

The fact that we could do that on a very bibbly bobbly surface augurs well for the Winter ahead when, in recent years, we have struggled to maintain standards on pitches that are less suited to our passing game than Stag Meadow.

Chertsey's young keeper had a tough game and could have done better with several of the goals but they never gave up and, despite being outclassed and outgunned all over the pitch they should not feel ashamed of their display. We have played worse sides than them this season.

WESSP
Winchester City v Whitchurch United - big clash in the Wessex this w/e still unbeaten and new leaders Whitchurch travel to free-scoring City (19 goals in the last 3 at home)
- saw both these midweek as I delved (actually probably splashed) my way into the Wessex Prem for a change. Watched City obliterate Christchurch 7-1 on Tuesday night. Wednesday I saw a much closer contest - a real thriller with contrasting halves. 3-2 at HT; no goals 2nd half - though no less excitement - as 'The Jam Boys' upset previous leaders Petersfield on a very wet night.

WESS1
Pewsey Vale v Fleet Spurs
Tadley Calleva v Andover New Street

Hanworth Villa are a bit of a bogey team to Windsor, having beaten us 4 times in last 5 matches.

If we play with the same pace and intensity as Tuesday night we'll be fine.

Whitchurch can re-take top spot on Tuesday but have an awkward trip to Alresford; whilst Winchester travel deep into the forest to take on Brockenhurst the following night.

Tadley Calleva 4-0 Andover New Street
- Two local sides here sit 1st and 2nd though just behind them US Portmarf and Amesbury both won 5-0 and Team Solent were involved in a County Level cup.

Four Of Clubs
Cambridge City 3-3 Slough Town

Sluff were 3-1 down at half-time, with one of the Reading Academy keepers Alexander Gogic in goal. Good comeback under the circumstances.

Point of order Mr FoC - Redditch played in midweek in a cup competition (not sure if league or county), and scored 9 [NINE], so have scored 23 [TWENTY THREE] in a week!!!

... yeah - I sort of discounted that match, as it was in the Southern League, League or RI Cup (Red Insure) or more likely Regularly Ignored - in that very few clubs give a flying one about it.
They bt Bps Cleeve on Monday night - Cleeve are rock bottom of Div One S&W having conceded 39 in 12 so far - thus a bit of a hammering was probably inevitable?

I can't be fully comprehensive ALL of the time  .... as it was I thought it was quite an achievement to double their total league goals in two successive league games.
They face Chipp'num & Chesham in their next two so will be interesting to see if they are as prolific?

Sluff welcome Hereford on Tuesday night; Chesham go to St Neots whilst Burnham and Hungerford have to trek down to Daaarset to play Dorchester and Poole respectively.
Marlow in Div One Central host Bedworth; Chalfont St P go to AFC Hayes for a Trophy replay whilst in One S&W Fleet host the aforementioned leaky Bps Cleeve.
There's a few good local dust ups in the Hellenic too: in form RTFC - they've followed five straight defeats with five consecutive wins -welcome Holyport to Scours; Ab Utd face Flackwell at the Northcourt ; 2nd place Yellamen (Ascot) take on Highworth and the somewhat soggy of late 'Kingfishers' (Thatcham) have to trek round the Poxford Ring Rd to 4th placed Kidlington - the sides met only last midweek at Waterside Park in the Floodlit Cup - Kiddy running out 4-2 winners.

On Wed night there's a potential relegation battle between Shrivvy and Milton whilst Nomads meet WBT

...think I'll go for a double myself midweek: - Mon - H/I v Bracknell and Tuesday - Abingdon Utd v Flackwell.

Some MW action in NL locally:

on Tuesday night:

Southern Premier
Sluff bt Hereford 2-0 ; Chesham won 3-2 @ St Neots; Burnham and Hungerford both lost 0-1 @ Dorchester and Poole respectively.

in One Central
Marlow 3-1 Bedworth
- was at this: Blues 3-0 up on 24' playing some fast flowing stuff - bodes better for the season than recent form - comfortably put away a side that were big (and at times fairly ugly) and currently 4th.
in One S&W
Fleet 3-2 Bps Cleeve
Trophy replay result:
AFC Hayes 0-1 Chalfont St P - winners away at Dulwich Hamlet on 1st November.

Hellenic
Monday night
Binfield 1-2 Ardley
Highmoor/IBIS 2-0 Bracknell Town
- popped down the road for this - Highmoor won at a stroll - a young looking Robins side never seriously threatened their composed performance - wasn't a great spectacle but they had played on Saturday vs Ascot and evidently wanted to keep themselves in check. Relatively well-behaved too - although Robins don't exactly play an in your face style so there were unlikely to be that many flash points.

Tuesday
RTFC surprisingly beaten 0-2 at Scours by Holyport - 'port have now won three in a row
Ab Utd 3-3 Flackwell
Ascot 4-1 Highworth
Kidlington 6-1 Thatcham

...and in the Combined Counties another good win for Windsor 4-0 at Hartley W. last night.

In their first match under lights at their own ground Eversley & California lost 2-4 vs Ash Utd

Results from last nights (Wed) Hellenic Prem games:

OC Nomads 3-0 WBT
Shrivenham 2-2 Milton

... and at the 14th attempt Cheltenham Sarries finally break their duck - 2-1 win at home vs (unfortunately) Newbury.

... next up nice easy trip up to Scours vs RTFC this Sat. :?

Some action in the WESSEX I'd missed earlier in the week too:

Whitchurch Utd W3-2 at last season's Runners-Up Alresford and join Petersfield back in top spot - 2nd on GD of 1 with a game in hand.
Meanwhile Winchester's charge back up the table came to a shuddering halt with a 0-3 reverse at the 'Badgers' of Brockenhurst!

Abandoned at half-time, apparently someone threw a glass at the referee. Slough were 2-1 up at the time. Happy days...

Banbury United v Slough Town match abandoned after referee 'hit by bottle'
A non league football match was abandoned after the referee was hit by a bottle thrown from the crowd, it has been claimed.

Banbury United said the official called off its Southern League Premier game with Slough Town at half time.

Thames Valley Police attended Spencer Stadium at about 16:00 BST and said it was investigating after a bottle was thrown onto the pitch.

Reports on social media have suggested the bottle hit the referee.

In a statement on its website, Banbury United said: "The football club regrets that today's game had to be abandoned at half time.

"The club will carry out a full investigation into the half-time incident and co-operate with the relevant authorities.

"Supporters should retain tickets as they will be valid for the restaging of the game."

The match had started at 15:00 and the home side was losing 2-1 when the game was halted.

There have been no reports of any arrests.

Hope the idiot that threw this item can be quickly identified and locked up.

Sad how it takes only one idiot to run everyones fun. At least in non league football people are easily picked out of the crowd so he won't be back. Wouldn't be too much of a shock if it was his first game. Some people don't know how to act at non league games when they first come down!

My first game at Stag Meadow in the early 90's i made a fool of myself by sitting in the seats
