TBM The Brentford chairman is a numbers man, he looks at statistics over ability/performance. Its like a real life game of Football Manager. He wants a manager with the right stats, to buy the players he identifies as having the best set of numbers to their name etc.....

Surely he can do a lot better than that. If it goes wrong their it wont look to good on his CV.

And of course it is absolutely his right to employ whomsoever he chooses to do the job. But I'd love it if Warburton went to Rangers, and got and (admittedly huge club) promoted back to the Premier League while Brentford floundered in the Championship

TBMfloyd__streete What the actual f*ck are Brentford doing sacking off Warburton - under whom they have been consistently succesful - with a foreign manager when they're in the Championship FFS? You can understand foreign managers in the Premier League to an extent (its a gloabl league, the Championship isn't. Although isn't it nice to see an english manager such as Monk perform at least as well as - for example and given respective budgets - Pochettino?) but in the english second tier? Utterly pretentious nonsense, hope they struggle next season.
In other news, Nigel Adkins will be getting the Sheff U job. Sliding down the divisions isn't he, Brendan Rodgers will be next one on that downward spiral.

This model has been proven to work in American sports. There's a whole film about how Billy Beane did it at the Oakland A's in the MLB. They're having a crap season this year, but have taken themselves from the second lowest spending team coming last year on year to being perpetual contenders with no change in the finances.
