Ferguson - wanted by a vast majority of Reading fans, sacked in his new job!
Irvine - wanted by a vast majority of Reading fans, sacked in his new job!

Mcdermott, onward and upward.

Despite a decent budget by league 1 standards, the standard of football has been dire at times this season only the cup runs kept Scott in a job for this long. Bizarre team selections, uninspiring tactics and very poor PR combined to make his sacking inevitable.

Chris Hughton would be my choice if we could persuade him to come.

This is all b*llocks. He's a young manager - got them promoted and surprise, surprise they haven't romped the league and are struggling in League 1. Right, sack the manager. Pathetic. he'll learn more as a manager battling relegation than doing well. I'm not sure who are the biggest c^nts the fans or the trigger happy myopic chairmen. Shame on all of you.

As I am not a Brentford supporter I wouldn't like to comment on the decision to sack Scott but in general I would like to see Chairmen stick with Managers who have brought them success in the past.
However I always find it much easier to take such a view when it is not my Club fighting relegation and Brentford are in the midst of their second dire run of the season despite being one match from Wembley in the Paint Drying Trophy.

We all know fans are fickle and this sort of situation shows why Managers like Howe end up moving elsewhere. Within the last few weeks I have seen Scott's name linked with a couple of Championship jobs and now he is out of a job. I imagine he will get another chance at another Club soon and I hope he does. Meanwhile I hope Fozzie does well in the time he is in charge, however long that might be - he may end up leading his team out at Wembley.
