I hate it when i switch Sky Sports News on to find Jim White talking annoyingly at 400 million decibels, Andy Burton texting 'his mate' Phil Brown, the way they have to have a reporter surrounded by goon fans of say Stoke to be told they've just signed Doobs on loan, 'Sky sports undertstands' which is invariably bollocks and also the way they go to Big Ben at 11pm.

Other than that it's alright.

I like it too. Just get used to the fact that some people on here are perennially half empty so don't take too much notice. If Sky Sports News' coverage annoys you...don't watch it! Not that hard.

Anyway back to the transfers, for me the Carroll bid highlights two things:-

1) There is a serious dearth of quality centre forwards around - hence supply & demand driving the price up
2) There is an even more serious dearth of centre forwards in the classic number 9 mould like Carroll - again explaining the ridiculous price

Still can't believe Newcastle didn't accept 25m! Can only think that because it's deadline day they don't think there would be enough time to spend the money effectively
