 @ 'retro_royal' - the laugh that keeps on giving.

Do they have rivalries on your Sky box?

We have Swindon and Aldershot as rivals, but I would only expect a well-informed football fan to know this.

Swindon's rivals are Oxford m8.

Aldershot? Haven't you only ever played them once since they were formed in 1992 and that was a friendly. Its a bit like Man City claiming their rivals to be FC United.

Actually agree we don't really have any rivals. Oxford is the closest for me. Aldershot, lol, that's one for the old guard.

No idea why this is on a thread about Gareth Bale though who is a brilliant, brilliant player.

Its because i responded to a post by CreativeUsername. I said as a Liverpool fan, i see Everton as our biggest rivals. This seemed to upset TMD greatly. Hopefully this thread can now stay on track and be about Gareth Bale.

Probably the second best left winger in the league behind Sterling.

Indeed. Sarcastically comparing an 18 year old rookie with an established international who is currently favourite to be player of the year. Once again TMD showing himself up.

Seems a hell of a long time ago this guy couldn't buy a win. Didn't he go 20 appearances for Spurs without being on the winning side? Sure they were looking at moving him on at one point.

Agreed bale is a good player, but until he proves it on the big stage you can't call him world class, not yet anyway.
Don't know if its just me, but I can't stand the arrogant little oxf*rd

Well he's never going to show it at international level is he?

...and does his two-legged raping of Milan a couple of years ago not count?

He's had a very good couple of months but (like various radio stations) to ask the question "is he as good as Messi and Ronaldo?" is ludicrous.

He's clearly a very good player but players in this league like Van Persie, Suarez, Aguero, Rooney also have purple patches where everything they do turns to gold.

If he can deliver like this week in, week out for the rest of the season and beyond, then we can start to ask those questions. At the moment - for me - he's just a very good player who the opposition haven't got a game plan for yet.

1 at each end so far. Not bad!

Need him to score again as I backed him to score two in this game
