Alan Partridge
soggy biscuit
Alan Partridge Sorry but this may be me not realising a genius at work, but these free kicks are a nonsense, these balls are just daft. Like plastic air floaters. Hit it and it goes 10 different ways into the net. Daft.

Confirmed by Ronaldo himself. After the goal against Pompey he said he had simply learnt a technique for hitting it that made it swerve a lot, he said he didn't know where it would go after leaving his foot.

Fair play to him for it, give you this ball then make the most of it, it looks absolutely brilliant but to me it's a bit false. The keeper goes the way the ball is going, it swerves all over the place and he's got ZERO chance of saving it if it's on target, it's not fair imo. Ronaldo is a tremendous player, absolutely sensational and his record this season is phenomenal but these free kicks just grate with me! Keepers union!

If it was so easy then every free kick taker would be doing the same, the facts are that he is the best by a street and the only one that can make the ball move so much in the air.

Spurs' home record this season:

Won 7
Drawn 3
Lost 4
Scored 41
Conceded 26
Avergae goals per game 4.79

Highest scorers at home and the equal worst (with Fulham) defensive record at home.

I cheered United's first goal yesterday.

I feel dirty.

A massive point for CheLOLsea in the race for second against a Spurs side in devastating league form.

earleyroyal That challenge was horrible, far worse than Taylor's tackle. If that had been Taylor/Hunt/insert small club scapegoat then FIFA would be calling for a year's ban, but because it's big club Cole there'll be no fuss about it at all. And to complain about getting a yellow card!!

Think AP is being a bit extreme  but he's still one of the scummier people on the planet and symptomatic of the Premiership, one of the consolations if we do get relegated is that we won't be in a league with this graceless, arrogant, mercenary culture.

'£55,000 a week? They're taking the piss. I nearly crashed my car, I was so angry.'

Has been some fuss - back page of The Sun Today

"Simply The Beast - Why did Cole stay on pitch after this horror lunge?"

Of course he won't get a ban as he was booked.

I can't believe the reaction to the Cole 'tackle'.

Whilst it was poor it was far from the worst we've seen this season - had it been Hutton's standing leg serious damage would have been done. But it wasn't and the referee dealt with it.

Cole's reaction to the booking, however, was shocking. If Riley had any plums he'd have immediately shown him a second yellow for dissent.

Cashley in pcunt shock - NOT, a fine example of the charm school that is CHeLOLsea.

BTW on the Ronaldo free kick, nobody's mentioned how he was somewhat helped by the BoLOLton defender running away from the end of the wall just before he hit it

I hope the FA charge Chelsea for failing to control their players - the way they reacted after the tackle was disgraceful. Riley hadn't even spoken to Ashley Cole yet there they all were surroundinng Riley prrotesting about something - I assume they feared that the card would be red so they were getting in there first before Riley had chance to show it.

I also hope the FA charge Cole for bringing the game into disrepute for turning his back on Riley. Riley might have dealt with the tackle but he didn't deal with the dissent.

I wonder how many kids will now be copying Cole and turning their backs to the ref on the parks this weekend?

When you see how Alliadiere was treated after his offense and the way Cole was. you know the world has gone mad.

Cole should receive further punishment for his actions............but he wont.

TheMaraudingDog VIVA RONALDOOOOOOO

Is there anything gayer in football than that "take me home, country road" song they pump out of the tannoy at Old Trafford in a vain attempt to engender some atmosphere?

To answer my own question, yes. It's the pitchside adverts for ringtones with United songs.

I think this the the crux of why hopefully Cashley will get a ban - the FA are currently running some sort of "respect the ref" campaign so this would be an extremely easy way of making an example of what happens when you abuse the official. Had he received a second yeelow for his outburst than he would only have received the mandatory one match ban but there's now scope for him to get 3 games.

Keepy Uppy I'd say, closely followed by City playing chants during the game

As for the tannoy at OT pumping that out, it's cringeworthy yes and no-one joins in.

Decent enough last night though with VIVA RONALDOOOOOO being sung for long periods.

Ashley Cole challenge was 100times worse than Martin Taylor's in all honesty. Cole's was malicious and his reaction after befitting of a Chelsea footballer. Avram Grant's interview after was from the Wenger school 'didn't see it' 'we don't have a problem with upsetting ref' etc. Two words. John. Terry.

It's when you see these twats you realise MAn Utd aren't actually that bad.

A side note from the Chelsea game missed, was Carlo Cudicini take a bow son!!!

Did you miss Fergie and Queroz's temper tantrums after the Portsmouth game and the first bad decision they'd have in years?

Had it been any manager from 5th place down, they'd be on a disrepute charge.

Sadly, when you hear some of the shyte that Wenger spouts, it appears the big 3 are all as bad as each other.

You're all overlooking the worse decision of the game - the foul on Terry by Berbatov for the 2nd Spurs goal.

Mike RiLOLey.

I agree Kes.
The irony in supporters of small clubs only looking at decisions that go against small clubs and then moaning about how refs are biased, despite the obvious biased views that the supporter has!

Classic example is that Spurs goal at OT, Spurs should have won the said. Yet they say nothing about the foul that should have been a United pen before hand.

These decisions even themselves out, shame the blinkered can’t see that.

LOL @ the blinkered thinking it’s the refs that are blinkered!

Weren't the FA investigating their comments? Have they let those two off?
