I was given 4 corperate tickets for the game today. Have to say on the basis of watching that game, Hull have got to buy alot of new players or they will be the new Derby. The game itself was shocking, but atleast got to see the new Wembley and it was amazing.

Oh and also walked past Justin Lee Collins on Wembley Way.

Agreed. We've got a job to do if we're going to join them in 2009/2010.

Did you punch him in the face and tell him never to appear on TV again or you'd hunt him down and kill him?

nme.com 'Taking to the stage in a Leeds United scarf Mark Ronson immediately endeared himself to the crowd.

"I just want to say come on Leeds!" he shouted.

"Are you going to sing-a-long?" asked Wilson before indulging in a healthy spot of football rivalry. "Are they going to hear us in Doncaster [Leeds' Playoff opponents and local rivals]? They're going to shit themselves!"

'The band then finished their homecoming, by taking a deserved bow at the front of the stage, before walking off as strains of football anthem 'Glory, Glory Leeds United' blasted from the PA.'

Well done to Doncaster, they play football the right way and I have a feeling they'll do well next year.

Great day at Wembley yesterday. Mr V is predictably over the moon about things.

Was a bit of a lesson in football loyalties though. I always considered Hull my #2 team after Reading and I was quite happy for them. But my heart really isn't in it like it is with Reading. I was happy for Hull, happy for Mr V, but the whole thing made me more than a little sad for Reading all over again.

Should be very interesting to see what Hull will do. Campbell certainly seems to have the necessary cynicism and egotism for a striker in the Prem, but I'd think there really need to be quite a lot of replacements to stay up.

Campbell won't be there next year as Man Utd want him back for next season.

At the moment their strike force consists of a 40 year old bloke, Caleb Folan and Fagan (who Derby didn't think was good enough for their Prem season).

They will need to invest very heavily over the summer.

T.R.O.L.I. bring on Ashton Gate next season!

Ditto, be a brilliant day out.

Unless we get ubermurked with the game being on a Tuesday night (or on Boxing Day)

Selfish I know, but I am crossing everything for a Tuesday night game at Ashton Gate. Half day at work, drinking all afternoon then off to the game to bait some yokels. Magic.

In a lot of ways I felt similar (except the happiness for Mr V!). It was a nice day out but the match itself left me a bit flat - you really had to have some emotional involvement in it to enjoy it.

Above all, though, I wanted to be able to tell the ecstatic Hull fans around me to enjoy their day and remember this day, because next season will be a series of disappointments and struggles where they're making up the numbers in an uncompetitive league. At least I was able to tell some Brizzle fans on the train back to Wycombe that they'd have hated the Prem.

PS, V - Campbell looks good but don't forget he's not really a Hull player - he's on-loan from Man Utd. When his loan is over they have a big space to fill. I do hate this syndrome where big clubs use smaller clubs as their "nursery club" - I feel it somehow devalues success the smaller club has as a result of the players used.

Same here. Just wanted to say,' It's not going to get any better than this.' But I don't suppose they would have appreciated such sentiments at the time. I don't ever remember being kissed and hugged so much at our promotion though. Northerners sure are a hell of a lot friendlier. We had to go to the O2 afterwards so Mr V changed his kit into a normal shirt for the rest of the evening. This turned out to be very fortunate as we raced back to Padders with two minutes to spare, jumped on the train as quickly as we could, looked around and realised that it was the last train back to Bristol CIty and the whole carriage was full of drunk and miserable City fans. Transport police had about 10 policemen on the train in order to keep order, though to be fair they seemed to be just looking for something to get all authoritarian about.
