Is QPR Derby on telly, if so it would be great if the Derby fans did not go, unlikely, but one day it has to happen.

£700 Season Ticket!!!

by Halifax 4-1 » 19 Sep 2008 13:44

For best seats at QPR.

If this is what happens when billionaires get involved with your club then stay away. The combined wealth of Amit Bhatia, Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone is conservatively estimated at £23 billion and yet they have increased some season ticket prices by 50%.
See link http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/foo ... -hike.html

If this is deemed ambition at what point does it become too high for the ordinary supporter.

I am glad "just" to have a millionaire in charge of our club and am very happy with my seat in the east, opposite the directors box for £425.

Long may John Madejski reign and keep managing Reading Football Club in the real world.

Surely this could have been done on the 'QPR Ticket Prices' thread on General Football where it belongs?

I can't see a problem, you're paying to see a Premiership side.

I was front row of the top tier, right above the scoreboard for that one. Bang in line with the goal going in, I thought it was Forster offside for the free kick? Anyway, all I remember was seeing a balti pie going slow-mo over my head and into the tier below when Knight (qunt) dis-allowed it. LOLed at NSML to the right of me that had pie on his shirt for him to then LOL back at it being on me too. Sweaty, balti smelling white t-shirt worn for the rest of the day on the lash

As ticket prices are set before the season starts, how can QPR possibly grade a game relatiing to league position. QPR have stated that due to massive incestment they have also raised the entertainment value of the club. Along these lines the Derby support should be paying £20. currently our position relates to sales prices of £40.
Speaking to a QPR supporter today he stated that tickets are held back late and then raised £10 across the board. Nice set of floodlights installed.
Do away supporters acually come to admire QPR  I really do not think so!.

This thing is happening more and more in football - the process of pricing out the "traditional" fans in favour of the more affluent. It just happens that at QPR it's more pronounced than at most places, possibly because they feel that with a relatively low capacity ground close to very affluent areas they can quite easily fill the ground with middle-class people paying higher prices than with just anyone paying lower prices.

Of course, though, this only works if they do manage to fill the ground .... which remains to be seen. The quality of the product being sold has to be good enough to attract these affluent people.

BTW, this process of changing the demographic through price increases even has a name in football - it's called "economic cleansing."
