Platypuss Hmm, perhaps set it up with the bottom 12 then allow each person 3 votes? I'll do it if you like.

Happy for you to do it Plats. Thanks for the offer.

I put Peterborough, Plymouth and Derby, however after doing the double over hapless Barnsley I think it will be between Derby and Barnsley to join Peterborough and Plymouth.
We will be safe and escape comfortably.

The lottery numbers this week will be.........

Savage was talking about how their defence has settled into a unit

We are starting to see a settled back 5 too

Stop the opposition scoring and you are nearly there.

I have a feeling Derby will stay up. We WILL stay up

If I were not a Reading fan I would have to go for Reading to join Peterborough and Plymouth so I would vote with a heavy heart for those three as the most likely if I were being completely honest. I believe our players in general are just as good as the 32/33 point Clubs but as yet we haven't shown the consistency to suggest we can be seven or eight points better than them over a nineteen match season which is what we now need to be.

Although we haven't exactly looked invincible at home recently we look as if we might have got the monkey off our back as far as our home record is concerned but we still have to improve on yesterday's performance and start becoming difficult to beat away from home as well.

That isn't going to happen while we continue to snatch at our shots at goal as we are at the moment. The strikers have to take some of the blame but apart from Siggi there is little goal threat from midfield. We play in such a way that our central midfielders don't get forward and McAnuff for some reason is very poor in front of goal. The centre backs need to work on their finishing as well - Mills tends to do the same as Sonko and head the ball upwards and over the bar when he gets headers at goal and I will never understand what Ivar was doing with that chance he had very early in the game against Barnsley.

I think Peterborough, Plymouth and Watford.

I think we'll get out of it. We "only" need to win two or three of the next five games and we will be clawing towards that pack of pretty average sides Cov, Donnie, Barnsley, Scunnie, Watford and Derby.

Big win yesterday with the way the other results went. If we had lost it would have been grim but now with a bit of momentum and a good result next week we will be in touching distance.

Next weeks games I reckon could go ...

Barnsley v Watford - draw likely
Bristol City v Cov - likely home win after City drew at Boro and looking to make up for the 0-6
Peterborough v QPR - away win after rangers losing at home this week
Ipswich v Boro - possible draw
Scunnie v Palace - home win as Scunnie good at home
Sheff U v Derby - home win
Plymouth v W Brom - away win
Forest v Sheff Wed - Forest back on track at home

So, the if part!! IF we can get a win next week I can see we will go a long way to closing things up a little.

I still feel that QPR should be included in the possibles to go down. The one thing that they do have is points in the bag but performances of late have been woeful and they still have not settled at a management level.

It'll be mighty close for us, Plymouth, Derby, Barnsley (on that last showing against us) and Palace.

P'boro look absolute certainties.

Watford have slipped into reckoning recently and have a tough run coming up.

Just checked out their recent results and they haven't won since start of Dec and have lost to some lower table sides including Peterborough.

Have all their loanees gone back??

Also seem to be getting rid of first team players ie Routledge to Newcastle

I think Scunny will be the team to prevent us getting relegated. I wish anyway.

1% Ipswich , why all the confidence in the tractor boys then??? bizarre...

if i was observing as a neutral i'd say the current bottom 3 ( but an irrational faith in Brian M has got me to choose the bottom two and the Ipswich

I was convinced Scunny would go down with Plymouth and Posh but they seem to be able to grind out enough decent results to survive. I think we will too now that we have a reasonably good defence. Barnsley were rotten on Saturday, but that must have been a one-off. Palace surely have too much about them not to climb away. I'm struggling to avoid saying us but I guess Watford are beginning to sink, and as a footballing team will continue to struggle on their own rotten pitch, as we did on ours in the second half of last season. That cost us promotion in my view, and could do for Watford too. If not, I'm hoping Derby and Ipswich continue to struggle because they are weighed down by expectation in the way we seem to be.
