Racism - the contradiction

by royalsteve » 23 Nov 2012 02:38

Well after all the racism talk recently, I have my own views. Im sure there is some and its not nice. I great up watching football in the late 70s early 80s and i wasnt old enough to understand why some and i mean a small number of middle aged men shouting monkey noises at the few black players then, pathetic really.

Anyway, you dont hear it much in england/wales now, certainly at reading ive not heard it. Not to say it doesnt happen and what we saw in the england U21 in serbia was disgraceful

What DOES annoy me is the knee jerk reaction, especially over clatenberg especially from hypocrites. The most vocal being Chelsea (bad losers?) and an racist organisation - the Society of Black Lawyers - How on earth they can have the cheek of calling someone racist (even if they are or are not is irrelevant) when they are the biggest racists out - what hypocrites!

You can also add MOBO as a racist organsiation, etc, etc (MOBO means blacks only, whites get lost and thats not racist as blacks arent racist only whites are, moan and we'll call you racist, setup MOWO and we'll call you racist)

I will bet as soon as someone sets the White Mans football (or whatever) assocation you wont hear the last of it!

The title has certainly stirred up some disagreement over the years, but is meant as an umbrella term for music that has it's roots in black society. Hip-hop/R&B etc. Is a clumsy title, but not exclusive to black performers.

I agree with Allardyce that he shouldn't ref another Chelsea game this season. In fact, his last display was so inept that there is even argument he should be demoted to the Championship anyway.

Funny that. Cos when i mentioned the one sided referee L'pool suffered at the hands of the same opponents you said something about selective memory. Anyway i do agree that United got every decision at the Bridge. They did at Anield too. The 2 grounds were they usually struggle, hadnt won at your place for about a decade and Anfield for about 5 years. 6 lucky points that has them very close to being top.

How to deal with racism in football in one easy lesson.

Anyone found using racist language or gestures to be taken to his / her own club's training ground and explain his / her actions to the black players at that club.

Serbian FA fined a paltry £65900. What an absolute joke, but not unexpected.

That might be paltry in your world m8 but in Serbia (and in my world)that is a lot of money.
It is also a big step up from fines in recent years.

It's bullshit, Vic. One game behind closed doors too. They should have been thrown out of all tournaments at all levels for one four year cycle. Send a proper message that racism will not be tolerated. This isn't a first offence.
