Royal Rother It’s the idea that you have preferred watching the non-football Reading have produced over the last few years over what City have produced that I struggle to get my head around.

Yes, I think we need an explanation! I don't like City but then that's because they spend too much and win everything pretty much every season so it just gets very very tedious but in no way can you say watching the utter cr@p that Pauno and Ince had Reading playing is remotely comparable to City let alone something anyone, who doesn't have an eye disease of some kind, would say is preferable to watch.

It’s all different perspectives isn’t it?

Although we’ve been an extremely tough watch for too long now, it only makes the wins more worthwhile and rewarding. Beating Burnley 4/5-0 isn’t for City. The imbalances are unfair, and the games are so one sided that it’s pointless. Course, everyone wants to see their side win but there are ways and means to it and watching a game of attack vs defence every game isn’t fun, especially when so much of the “attack” is done around the midfield and defence, (I’m aware we were pretty much the opposite under Ince mind!)

Teach all the wrong lessons in life that if you throw enough money at it, you’ll succeed. Unlike teams like Brighton/Brentford who achieve using the resources at their disposal, much more impressive

Anyway, I massively dislike City so I’m probably biased!

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a softer 2 yellows = red than the ones Tomiyasu got tonight.

2nd one was pathetic. Referees need to be helped by the 4th official when its that close to them, he had a far better view than the referee.

First one was plain stupid from Tomiyasu but agreed, dreadful call for the 2nd yellow.

Don’t quite understand why VAR can’t get involved with second yellows as they are game changing incidents.

Don't know if there is an official reason, but what seems logical to me is that if you allowed VAR for second yellows, you'd be reviewing some incidents, but not other identical ones. So say a player dives and his opponent gets a second yellow and is sent off - you'd end up reviewing and overturning that booking, but if the same thing happens before the player is on a card, the yellow stands and is never looked at.

Or in short, for balance you'd have to review all yellow cards, not just second yellows.

Fair point.

But restricting reviews to just where it results in a sending off would seem a reasonable distinction as it’s a potentially game-changing event.

You'd have to review all bookings as supposed the first yellow a player got had been "dodgy" while second was an accurate decision. The alternative would be to review both card incidents at the time the second card was issued and if necessary rescind one at that point.

Of course if VAR didn't exist it'd just be a case of getting on with it and appealing either or both cards after the game.

He will definitely score now, but Nicolas Jackson is terrible.

I didnt think there was an appeal process for yellow or 2 x yellows, only straight reds. I may have missed a recent(ish) change to the rules though.

Ok, so what price TAA scoring in this game as he should already be off

Had he gone VVD may not have committed what he did and may still be on the pitch

Obviously Klopp doesn’t agree with the VVD but kicking through someone is a foul, doing it when that player would have been clean through inside the box is lunacy.
And VVD complaining that the ball went wide …. only after you’ve kicked Isak’s foot onto it you moron

Sorry, but WTF is Jamie Carragher on
“How do you know it would be a goalscoring opportunity ?”
Well, Jamie, if that’s the case then bringing someone down when they’re clean through would NEVER be a goalscoring opportunity

He really is a fcuking twat. At least Gary Neville would probably have called that if it was a Man Utd defender. Maybe.

Agree with VVD sending off, utter stupidity. Don't think he's been the same player though since that bad injury.

Utterly disagree with TAA's booking. How on earth could he be judged as "kicking the ball away" when he's basically just pushed it back into the field of play, there didn't seem any intent or anger in his face so I'd say letting him off the second "offence" was fair do's.

Oh and NewcastLOLe still can't win and have let 9 men a donkey beat them (bit unfair I know on that game itself but...)

Agree, first booking was harsh. Hardly throwing the ball away.
Newcastle I think are a bit soft and light. That really was a shocker. If Newcastle are mid table by November I reckon Howe won't be there and is replaced with a bigger name. I think the owners are expecting big things this season.
