Now the local consortium headed by Andrew Flowers has pulled out. A pretty damning statement as well. https://twitter.com/sportingintel/statu ... 52/photo/1

Would be slightly odd if he was carrying on with the takeover when its his company behind the winding up order.

Not when you consider the Winding up order was designed to stop the Italian

Allianz buy 8% of Bayern Munich for €110M. Bayern say they will pay off their stadium with it which will then free up €40M a season for them

Well what a shock.

Several clubs in the Championship (QPR, Blackburn & Leicester) and one in League 1 (Wolves) have threatened the Football League with legal action if they don't revise the FFP rules.

After all this time and knowing what was coming, they have obviously decided they don't want to play any more because they now realise they don't have a cat in hell's chance of meeting the requirements.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/26/financial-fair-play-clubs-threat-football-league?CMP=twt_gu

Seems they want to be treated as special cases for their own imprudence. Throw the oxf*rd out, I say.

So despite the Championship clubs voting for this measure, a number of clubs have decided that it shouldn't apply to them.

The response should be to get stuffed and see you in Court; if the FL win, then those clubs should foot ALL the financial costs of bringing the case, including the FL's.

What a surprise that clubs like QPR, Blackburn and Leicester - and their owners! - are behind this!!

Yep, Mr A. That's about the sum of it. Great idea to make them pay as well - I hope the FL take them to the cleaners.

If we fail to gain promotion and can't offload the likes of Pog/Drenthe/Guthrie in the summer then we might well be joining that list. If we're not already on it.

If that's the case then my view is so be it; the current state of financial stupidity can't carry on, and though FPP isn't brilliant, it is better than leaving things as they are.

In essence, its a solution to a bigger issue that supercedes the narrow self interests of any single club (or owner) - and that includes our own.

Agreed Mr A.

I think our parachute payments should be enough to cover the high wages for the majority of their contracts, but we will certainly be one of the clubs carrying the biggest costs.

That list is a list of clubs threatening legal action against the football league not a list of clubs making excessive losses and possibly facing fines or transfer embargoes. I don't think we'd join that list either btw but I definitely don't see RFC going to court to defend profligacy.
