Margate v FGR going to be on bt sport. Has a 4th qualifying round game ever been on tv before? Personally i'd love to see a tie of 2 tiny sides where getting into the 1st round is a huge thing. Not sure it is for FGR

Does satellite TV count as TV

Agree, would rather have two sides where 1st round proper is a really big thing; Didcot v Brentwood for example, but let's not be churlish, any coverage is good, just a shame they couldn't pick up a game from each of the qualifying rounds (or at least a dedicated highlights program of the FA Cup).

Windsor 0-1 Westfield

Another poor performance. If not for another amazing display from keeper Carl Dennison we'd have had a right pasting. Could have said the same thing for each of the last 6 games.

Next game I think I might go behind his goal as right now he's the only good thing about watching Windsor!!

Without him we'd be in a little bit of trouble.

It'll all come right soon....

The first half at Windsor was so bad that those of us behind the goal took to guessing the airline of the next plane going into Heathrow.

Eastbourne Borough 0-1 Bishop's Stortford
Gosport Borough 1-2 Ebbsfleet United
Havant & Waterlooville 1-2 Wealdstone
Maidenhead United 2-0 Weston-Super-Mare
Maidstone United 1-0 St Albans City
Oxford City 1-1 Margate

Royston Town 4-0 Fleet Town
SOUTH1S&W

CCLP
Badshot Lea 2-1 AFC Hayes
Bedfont Sports 0-1 Ashford Town (Middx)
Chessington & Hook United 0-2 Knaphill
Cove 0-5 Redhill
Epsom & Ewell 0-1 Chertsey Town - shock here; 'Salts' first reverse of the season against struggling 'Curfews'
Guildford City 2-4 Spelthorne Sports
Hanworth Villa 0-2 Camberley Town
Horley Town 2-1 Colliers Wood United
Raynes Park Vale 1-2 Hartley Wintney - HW still 100% - now 8 wins from 8 but due to prolonged Cup runs are 9 points adrift of current leaders Ashford and have SIX games in hand.
Sutton Common Rovers 0-3 Farnham Town
Windsor 0-1 Westfield
CCL1
Abbey Rangers A-A Dorking - Ab. @ HT - reportedly due to dressing room altercations involving spectators too! :|

Sheerwater 2-4 Eversley & California
Staines Lammas 2-3 Ash United - rare away win for AUFC
Worcester Park 6-2 Sandhurst Town

HELLP
Bracknell Town 1-1 Lydney Town - 'Robins' have plenty of games in hand on the pack just above them and they'll be happy with a point - as they were down to 9 men 2nd half and fell behind. A visiting player then saw red and Cooper-Clarke levelled soon after. Tough trip next; just along the road to near neighbours Binfield on Monday night.

Brimscombe & Thrupp 1-1 Ascot United - possibly viewed as points dropped but B&T can be good at home and the report suggests the 'Yellamen' had to survive a bit of pressure.

Flackwell Heath 4-3 Tuffley Rovers - visitors fought back from 4-1 down to push the reigning champions close - but Heathens stay top a point clear of Thatcham and two from Ascot in 3rd place.

Highmoor-Ibis 3-0 Brackley Town Saints - H/I warming up nicely for the visit of Thatcham to Palmer Park on Monday evening - may well brave the masses myself.....

Highworth Town 2-3 Binfield - great result for the 'Moles'; 'Worthians' having started the season very well now on a rotten run of 4 league defeats in seven but all these reverses were against top 8 sides

Longlevens AFC 1-4 Milton United
Royal Wootton Bassett 2-0 Abingdon United
Thatcham Town 3-1 Wokingham & Emmbrook - 3-0 @ H/T - reports suggest 2nd half was a better performance than many were expecting from the Sumas, who've been on a very poor run. Skipper Jake Butler taken for hospital treatment after clash of heads

HELL1E
Didcot Town Res' 4-2 Holyport
Finchampstead 2-0 Reading Town - RTFC 0 points from 6 games; Finch stay top.
Wantage Town Res' 3-3 Rayners Lane
Woodley United 0-6 Penn & Tylers Green P&TG are divisions top scores and chasing hard in 2nd place. Formation of the Woodley 'super-club' not improving their prospects so far.

WESSP
Whitchurch United 0-4 Salisbury
WESS1
Alton Town 2-2 Downton
New Milton Town 1-1 Andover New Street
Romsey Town 1-1 Fleet Spurs
Totton & Eling 0-3 Tadley Calleva

Not the most inspiring Maidenhead performance against an improving Weston side who had the better of the second half of the first half. Two soft goals got us the win, we are in the top 5 and I can't help but feel that we can play a lot better.....

So what's gone wrong down at Basingstoke this season. Seems to me that their season has somehow got confused with Maidenhead's....

We'll see on 31st October when Basingstoke come to York Road. One reason might be the loss of Stuart Moore. He was ever present last season and won player of the year.

Four Of Clubs ... here's yesterday's NL round-up:

Saturday 17th October

NAT

Winchester City 4-0 Banbury United

[/b]

Decent game at Winch this week - result wasn't as clear cut as it looks. Banbury accused Winch of playing "long ball" which is laughable - they conceded the first two goals by trying to pass out of defence when a hoof was needed. We won the ball off their defenders inside the final 30 yards, I think, for three of our goals, which is hardly long ball football, Anyway, goal machine Warren Bentley scored two in the second half, the first of which was a cracker that would have graced any league ground. I'm loving non-league, though Winch's success is clearly helping. Glory hunter, I know. :)

... looking forward to your FA Trophy tie a week FRIDAY 30th Oct - when City host Weymuff in the First Qualifying Round - don't often get out on a Friday but as it's half-term might make the effort for a quick revisit - was there for the FA Cup tie vs the Magpies - I assume they are trying to rope in a larger crowd of 'occasionals' by bringing it forward to the Friday night?

I don't think Weymouth travel in as great a number as they used to - but they did get a crowd of over 1300 in for their local derby at Dorchester back on Aug B/H, highest in that division so far this season.

.... the Terras currently sit 4th in the division above Winchester City (Southern Premier).

Tonight popped along to Palmer Park for Highmoor/IBIS 1-1 Thatcham - actually was game high on quality for it's level but more or less meant the sides cancelled each other out.
A couple of very silly flash-points - mostly posturing and both sets of playerswere guilty of trying to wind-each other up but the Ref calmly got on with it.

..elsewhere tonight Binfield and Bracknell shared 4 goals and the points at Stubbs Lane; Hungerford beat Chesham 3-1 at Bulpit and Sluff slumped to a 1-0 reverse at Redditch - fair way to go for a Monday night.

Tomorrow night (Tue 20th) might get along to Wilks Park for Flackwell vs Ascot (1st vs 3rd) - plenty of County/League Cup ties locally too - Sandhurst v Hartley Wintney, Camberley v Knaphill, Chertsey v Cove and Chalfont St Peter v Penn & Tylers to highlight just a few. :)

... few 'new' one's in range but local ones are mostly below these levels for me this Sat. Possibly looking further afield at Evesham or maybe Boreham Wd (M25 'Car & Lorry' Park permitting) - more than likely plump for the 'bone idle' option of Taplow v Marlow Utd in the Thames Valley league.
Might even stir myself for a rare Friday jaunt up the A4074 to Culham Rd for a re-arranged N.Berks Div tussle twixt Abingdon Town and East Hendred. They've switched it for their lodgers Chinnor who are at home on Saturday - hope they've tested the lights properly.......... :?

BT's coverage of Margate v Forest Green captured the atmosphere of a non-league cup tie. Crowd reactions were heartfelt and not stereotyped. As the ground is so intimate, the commentary team felt obliged to apologise in advance for any 'strong' language. As far as I could tell, there was none. It was entertaining a match as many Premier League and Championship marches.

NL Results from yesterday (& today's Cup tie)

Saturday 24th October

FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round
Brackley Town 3-0 Bamber Bridge
Whitehawk 2-0 Poole Town
Maidenhead United 3-0 Woking
Basingstoke Town 3-0 Torquay United
Boreham Wood 2-1 AFC Hornchurch
Wealdstone 2-1 Bognor Regis Town
Didcot Town 4-2 Brentwood Town - I think 'Diddy' are now the joint-lowest ranked 'southern' club left in the competition - AFC Rushden & Diamonds from the Southern One Central Division, drew their tie at Northern Premier League Premier Division (now there's a mouthful!) club Barwell

Eastbourne Borough 1-2 Dover Athletic
Chesham United 2-1 Enfield Town
Staines Town 2-1 Gloucester City
Aldershot Town 1-0 Sutton United
Bromley 1-2 Eastleigh
Margate 1-2 Forest Green Rovers
Braintree Town 2-0 Harlow Town
Havant and Waterlooville 3-3 Cheltenham Town
Chippenham Town 0-2 Maidstone United
St Albans City 2-1 Weston Super Mare

(Sunday 25th Oct)
Grays Athletic 1-1 Welling United @ Aveley FC

NATS
Bishop's Stortford 1-2 Dartford
Chelmsford City 0-0 Ebbsfleet United
Hemel Hempstead Town 1-2 Concord Rangers
Truro City 2-2 Gosport Borough

SOUTHP
Hungerford Town 1-0 Histon - 'Crusaders' grab 3 points on 94’ - move to 6th in the table
Slough Town 3-1 Cambridge City - 'Rebels' climb to 7th thanks to a goal from much travelled marksman Charlie Strutton - came to prominence a few years back with bags of goals from the age of 17 over a six year spell for Chalfont St Peter - reportedly over 240 goals in 200 appearances :o ; was snapped up by AFC Wimbledon but never flourished - vaguely recall reading he picked up two very nasty ankle injuries early on whilst out on loan at both Maidenhead and then Aldershot - did score some goals for the Dons in Cup games. Has since had a couple of spells with Maidenhead & Braintree: he signed for the Essex club last year where he's come to Slough via a loan deal/spell with Hayes & Yeading this season. Still only 26 so could yet revive his career with Sluff?

SOUTH1C
Egham Town 1-0 Chalfont St Peter - 'Sarnies' go top of the pile - visit Petersfield on Wed night who themselves got a big win at the bottom side (Aylesbury Utd) 6-2 yesterday - having really struggled to put away a STEP08 side (Hayling United) in their County Cup match last midweek - only settling the tie with two injury time goals.

Godalming Town 1-0 Royston Town
Potters Bar Town 3-0 Fleet Town
St Ives Town 3-1 Beaconsfield SYCOB
SOUTH1S&W
Bridgwater Town 1-0 Marlow - Blues beaten down in Zummerset but face the potential prospect of a big win on Tuesday when the still 'pointless' and much-beleaguered 'Bash' visit Oak Tree Rd. Bashley's margins of defeat have at least dropped to 1's and 2's of late - so nothing is quite that certain

Cinderford Town 2-1 North Leigh - Nor Lye slip to 2nd with defeat at the new leaders - host Winchester City at Eynsham Pk on Wed evening.

Evesham United 4-0 Burnham
Wantage Town 2-3 Larkhall Athletic - 'Freds' chucked away a 2 goal lead
Winchester City 4-1 Bishops Cleeve

CCLP
AFC Hayes 5-0 Cove
Ashford Town (Middx) 2-3 Epsom & Ewell
Camberley Town 0-2 Sutton Common Rovers
Chertsey Town 1-3 Bedfont Sports
Chessington & Hook United 3-9 (NINE) Guildford City - reportedly new management team arrived at the Spectrum - some initial impact! - reportedly they've pulled in plenty of new faces on the field - were helped slightly by Chess 'n Hook going down to 10 men as early as 10'. City travel to 5th placed Horley on Tuesday evening.
Colliers Wood United 1-2 Badshot Lea
Farnham Town 3-4 Windsor - on paper a brighter result against a side that blow hot and cold themselves = Farnham appear to play better away from Babbs Mead this term too.
Knaphill 0-1 Hartley Wintney'The Row' keep up their 100% record but are still back in 3rd due to extended Cup runs – have another potentially tough trip up to AFC Hayes on Tuesday night
Spelthorne Sports 2-2 Horley Town
Westfield 4-2 Raynes Park Vale
FRI Result Hanworth Villa 0-4 Redhill
- including Friday night’s unexpected away romp for Redhill there were 8 aways wins in the 11 ComC Prem league games this w/e
CCL1
Ash United 0-2 Abbey Rangers
CB Hounslow United 2-0 Epsom Athletic
Cobham 1-3 Banstead Athletic
Dorking 0-1 Bedfont & Feltham
Dorking Wanderers Res 0-0 Frimley Green
Sandhurst Town 4-2 Sheerwater
Staines Lammas 1-0 South Park Res
Worcester Park 6-0 Farleigh Rovers
SCCC R1
Eversley & California 3-2 Walton Casuals

HELLP
Abingdon United 3-0 Brackley Town Saints
Ardley United 0-1 Brimscombe & Thrupp
Ascot United 4-2 Oxford City Nomads - good bounce-back result for the Yellamen versus the ever-puzzlingly inconsistent Nomads - this win followed defeat to Heathens in midweek - have a tough one up next home to Kiddy who are right up in contention.

Binfield 0-2 Thame United - poor result for 'Moles' who had been on an OK run but Thame go about their league campaign very quietly and may yet surprise those more-fancied sides above them - the 'new' ASM Stadium is comfortably the best aspected ground to get grading - has considerable scope for expansion and indeed they are hosting STEP04 Aylesbury Utd this season.

Bracknell Town 1-2 Highmoor-Ibis 'Robins' travel to fellow strugglers Ab Utd on Tue eve - whilst H/I host RWBT tomorrow night (Mon) at Palmer Pk
Highworth Town 3-1 Longlevens AFC
Kidlington 4-2 Lydney Town
Milton United 1-4 Thatcham Town - Kingfishers well-placed in 2nd with games in hand on leaders Flackwell - next up Thatcham welcome Brackley's Reserves/Kids to Waterside on Tuesday

Royal Wootton Bassett 0-3 Flackwell Heath
Tuffley Rovers 4-0 Wokingham & Emmbrook - doesn't get easier for the Sumas - they now face leaders and big hitters Flackwell at Mill Lane on Tue evening
HELL1E

Wednesday -I'm lured towards the prospect of North Leigh v Winchester - though the 'Moles' are up at Nomads that night too.

Great stuff as always FoC

Re. Thatcham
Should they get a promotion slot at the end of the season....would they be able/willingto take it? Did they not drop down to the Hellenic by choice (not relegation) a couple or three years ago?

As an aside, Sad to see that beleaguered Reading Town don't even get a mention in the Reading Chronicle these days

AthleticoSpizz Just a pity that it wasn't on terrestrial TV......for all to see

bbc's coverage of the fa cup is pretty good but does feel they've been slightly gazumped by not showing a 4th qual like bt have. There is a documentary on the class of 92 taking over Salford on thursday night so slightly surprising they didn't show their game. Suspect if they have a half decent draw BT & bbc will be interested in showing them!

Mustn't moan to much I guess

Kind've got used to ITV screening such matches.........forgetting that in my formative years....we had no live FA Cup early round games on TV at all.

It's just my prejudice against pay-to-view tv........take no notice

I think Thatcham's problems were all down to budget and not being able to compete/exist at that level. They had new backing this season but that may well have changed now too. I can see them not being able to go up.

Reading Town is a mess of a club. It's a shame of course but I can't see it getting any better until someone takes it over and kicks out the current shambles. Either that or the whole thing will go tits up and IBIS will take over Scours Lane.
