Four Of Clubs ... tonight (Tue) was down at the Waterside and saw a similarly one-sided match between 5th and 3rd - Thatcham just had far too much for a disappointing Highworth - 'Kingfishers' only move up one place though, as Ascot battered the poor Sumas 6-0 at the Racecourse to go 2nd.
Steve Claridge was at the Thatcham game - leaving well before the end doubtless fairly unconcerned about his club's (Salisbury) opposition (Highworth) this coming w/e in the Vase.

Thatcham are looking really strong by the sounds of things.

RR, just out of interest, and to harp back to an old discussion of ours, 5 of the Thatcham starting 11 on Tuesday night have been regular Reading Sunday League players over the last few seasons. Not sure if any are playing this season as they might be concentrating solely on Thatcham.

Windsor not applied for promotion this season so the season will drift out with no sense of ( unlikely) purpose. Really can't summon up the enthusiasm to watch the club at the moment. I think the step above is where my limit for non league football ends but i don't think Windsor in the current set up can or should be aiming for that so its a bit of a catch 22!

... here's tomorrow's NL fixtures:

Saturday 19th December

FA Vase 3rd Round replay
Newport (IoW) v Tadley Calleva - tie sensibly brought forward from the original midweek slot - not a great time to be travelling to IoW on a Tuesday :? - winners host Ashford United (from Kent) in the next round on January 9th

NAT
Aldershot Town v Guiseley
Gateshead v Woking
NATN
Harrogate Town v Brackley Town
NATS
Basingstoke Town v St Albans City
Chelmsford City v Wealdstone
Ebbsfleet United v Bath City
Havant & Waterlooville v Concord Rangers
Hayes & Yeading Utd v Maidstone United
Margate v Gosport Borough
Oxford City v Hemel Hempstead Town
Sutton United v Maidenhead United - 'Magpies' let a game slip away in midweek, going down 2-3 at StAlebuns - fell behind twice and finally lost in injury time.
Truro City v Eastbourne Borough - 'White Tigers' edged past Ciren Town in a Trophy replay thanks to a very late penalty.
Weston-Super-Mare v Bishop's Stortford
Whitehawk v Dartford

ISTHP
Lewes v Farnborough

SOUTHP
Chesham United v Stratford Town - Generals bow out of the Trophy in the replay on Tuesday - beaten 0-2 at Amy Lane by Torquay
Poole Town v Slough Town - another tough one for 'Rebels' at the runaway leaders - the 'Dolphins' are a massive 12 points clear of Chipp'num in 2nd and 'Crusaders' (Hungerford) currently up to 3rd - battered 6-1 at Weymuff last week, Sluff recovered some pride with a good 3-1 win over the 'Martyrs' - were three up by H/T.

SOUTH1C
Beaconsfield SYCOB v Arlesey Town
Chalfont St Peter v AFC Rushden & Diamonds
Fleet Town v Uxbridge
Hanwell Town v Aylesbury
Potters Bar Town v Godalming Town
St Ives Town v Egham Town
SOUTH1S&W
Bridgwater Town v Bashley
Didcot Town v AFC Totton
Marlow v Tiverton Town
Shortwood United v Wantage Town - Freds badly beaten again in midweek; 0-4 at home to Tivvy
Taunton Town v North Leigh
Wimborne Town v Burnham
Winchester City v Evesham United

CCLP
AFC Hayes v Ashford Town (Middx)
Badshot Lea v Farnham Town
Bedfont Sports v Camberley Town - Camberley proved too strong for the 'Yellamen' on a boggy surface at Krooner Park on Tuesday night in the Vase replay. They now travel to FC Romania from the Essex League in the 4th round in January (a side of ex-pats who play currently at Cheshunts' Theobald Lane nr M25 jn 25).
I've actually seen this lot play in a quite surreal match, up at Hemel a few years back. Another Vase game, on a Sunday PM this time vs erstwhile 'lodgers' London Lions (aka Maccabi Lions) - Israeli and Romanian flags/banners spread around a thinly attended game - clubhouse had far more people crammed in it - Irish GAA/Hurling fans, watching some grand-final or t'other - who all had half-an eye on 'Stan' Petrov's testimonial from Celtic Park on the other screens - the football match going on live outside, was somewhat of an apology - though both sides were quite skilful.

Colliers Wood United v Knaphill
Epsom & Ewell v Sutton Common Rovers
Guildford City v Chertsey Town
Hartley Wintney v Hanworth Villa
Raynes Park Vale v Horley Town
Redhill v Chessington & Hook United
Windsor v Spelthorne Sports - Windsor's match at Stag Meadow vs SCR survived the deluge for the home side to grab an important 4-1 win
CCL1
CB Hounslow United v Abbey Rangers
Cobham v Farleigh Rovers
Dorking v Dorking Wanderers Res
Epsom Athletic v Worcester Park
Frimley Green v Eversley & California
14:00 Sheerwater v Sandhurst Town
South Park Res v Ash United
14:00 Staines Lammas v Bedfont & Feltham

HELLP
Ardley United v Lydney Town
Ascot United v Milton United
Brackley Town Saints v Binfield - 'Moles' put TEN past hapless Woodley in the Cup on Monday night
Bracknell Town v Abingdon United
Highmoor-Ibis v Oxford City Nomads
Longlevens AFC v Flackwell Heath - 'Heathens' have the chance to open up a small gap at the top with closest rivals not in league action tomorrow. Thatcham don't have a game and Kiddy are in the County Cup. Flackwell's own B&B Trophy Q-F v Thatcham was washed out this week - date now tbc - the other three ties are due to be settled by 22nd Jan

Wokingham & Emmbrook v Brimscombe & Thrupp - Sumas woes continue beaten 3-1 at Brackley Saints on Wednesday night
Oxon Senior Cup R3
13:30 Thame United v North Leigh United - visitors are the Hellenic One variant NOT the 1sts who, along with OUFC OCFC & Banbury get a bye to the 1/4 finals each year. That's when BBCRO's Hedley Feast doesn't lose his balls under the table when doing the draw :? :lol:

Kidlington v Mansfield Road
HELL1W
14:00 Letcombe v Hook Norton
HELL1E
14:00 Finchampstead v Henley Town
14:00 Headington Amateurs v Chalfont Wasps
Chinnor v Didcot Town Res
Rayners Lane v Reading Town
Wantage Town Res' v Old Woodstock Town
Woodley United v Bicester Town

WESSP
AFC Portchester v Whitchurch United
WESS1
AFC Stoneham v Fleet Spurs
Andover New Street v Amesbury Town
Hythe & Dibden v Alton Town
Pewsey Vale v Totton & Eling

Lewes 1-0 Farnborough

SOUTHP
Chesham United 2-0 Stratford Town
Poole Town 3-3 Slough Town - good fight-back by Rebels – trailed 2-0 and 3-2 grabbed leveller (Hallahan) on 88’
SOUTH1C
Beaconsfield SYCOB 3-1 Arlesey Town - SYCOB in touching distance of the Play Off spots now, though have played more games than their rivals for 2nd-5th places.
Chalfont St Peter 2-0 AFC Rushden & Diamonds CStP beat mornings’ leaders and grab top spot – though they have played two games more.
Fleet Town 2-0 Uxbridge
Hanwell Town 1-2 Aylesbury
Potters Bar Town 1-2 Godalming Town
St Ives Town 0-1 Egham Towngood win for the Sarnies at third place St Ives
SOUTH1S&W
Bridgwater Town 5-1 Bashley - no respite for poor Bash – let in another hatful against the side 4th bottom – this result also puts 'Freds' and Burnham in deep trouble
Didcot Town 1-4 AFC Totton :shock:
Marlow 3-1 Tiverton Town – ‘Blues’ ease worries with a good win against one of the leading pack.
Shortwood United 5-2 Wantage Town
Taunton Town 2-1 North Leigh
Wimborne Town 2-0 Burnham - poor result at fellow strugglers
Winchester City
2-1 Evesham United

Epsom & Ewell 3-1 Sutton Common Rovers
Guildford City 4-2 Chertsey Town
Hartley Wintney
2-0 Hanworth Villa
Raynes Park Vale 2-3 Horley Town
Redhill PP Chessington & Hook United - late call off here I think
Windsor 1-1 Spelthorne Sports - visitors grab a very late goal in what was described on NLM as a pretty dull game. Forgot to mention first time - attendance 306
- top three all win - 9 point gap opened up now back to Camberley in 4th who were surprisingly beaten at Sports

CCL1
CB Hounslow United 2-1 Abbey Rangers
Cobham 3-1 Farleigh Rovers
Dorking 2-0 Dorking Wanderers Res
Epsom Athletic PP Worcester Park
Frimley Green 0-2 Eversley & California
Sheerwater 4-2 Sandhurst Town
South Park Res 3-2 Ash United
Staines Lammas 1-2 Bedfont & Feltham

HELLP
Ardley United 2-1 Lydney Town - Ardley climbing steadily away from the drop zone now after an uncharacteristically poor start – I suspect they lost a lot of players pre-season.
Ascot United 2-2 Milton United - bit of a setback for the 'Yellamen' – probably tired from their heavy Vase replay defeat on a dreadful surface midweek
Brackley Town Saints 2-0 Binfield poor result for Moles – reduced to 10 men late 2nd half
Bracknell Town 1-1 Abingdon United
Highmoor-Ibis 1-0 Oxford City Nomads – Marcus’s lads stop some serious ‘rot’ with a welcome win over Nomads.
Longlevens AFC 3-2 Flackwell Heath - minor upset for Heathens especially with Kiddy not in league action – new boys from the Gloucester suburbs doing Ok in their first season up – now climb to 6th place.

Wokingham & Emmbrook 0-4 Brimscombe & Thrupp – Sumas in a bad way now, well adrift and it’s very likely four will drop at the end of the season from the Premier
OSC R3 Thame United PP North Leigh United - Home walkover - Nor Lye unable to raise an XI
OSC R3 Kidlington {SEVEN} 7-1 Mansfield Road
Wilts Q-F Highworth Town 1-2 Corsham Town

Chinnor 4-2 Didcot Town Res
Finchampstead 1-1 Henley Town
Headington Amateurs 2-3 Chalfont Wasps
Rayners Lane 1-1 Reading Town another point for RTFC following up their first three last w/e
Wantage Town Res' PP Old Woodstock Town - OWT manager walked after the ignominious reverse at Scours last week and this w/e they couldn’t get an XI together – 2nd scratched game in three weeks!

Woodley United 0-5 Bicester Town

WESSP
AFC Portchester 1-1 Whitchurch United
WESS1
AFC Stoneham 2-2 Fleet Spurs
Andover New Street 0-5 Amesbury Town
Hythe & Dibden 3-1 Alton Town
Pewsey Vale 4-2 Totton & Eling - first win of the season for Vale

... the youngest and I headed out (finally) at about 13:00 - needed an early KO as we were expected back for an evening outing to an Xmas play - remarkably I managed to wriggle out of it on our return - probably because our eldest two had concocted good reasons not to attend so Missus probably didn't think it was justified pressing me to go.
We headed up to 'AP-land' :wink: and saw a good quality tussle from the upper reaches of N.Baaarks Div Two (nominally equivalent to Pyramid STEP09) - though I believe on a technicality the NBFL are not recognised as being affiliated directly to the Pyramid system at that level:

Stanford-in-the-Vale 0-2 Burghclere

... as is so often the case in this particular league no real football 'furniture' to speak of - metal rail down only one side - no lights. Some useful bench seating on the patio of the clubhouse - inside which, was very cozy and a decent draught ale available too - from Cornwall though :?
Have to say I've enjoyed more or less every jaunt into this league - the facilities might be basic at best but nearly everywhere is very friendly - most places do have a bar of sorts - or a decent boozer very close by - and the football is actually of a pretty good standard compares favourably to a few STEP07 and above leagues locally.

1st half was a bit dull but 2nd half was pretty decent.

Another top class goalkeeping performance from Carl Dennison should have given the anorak something to cheer. Without him we could have lost quite heavily - would a few more goals have pleased the reporter?

In his report apparently the ref gave 100% for both teams and their management in all departments which is nice to hear.

Bracknell Town won 3.1. Not a 1.1 draw. 4 unbeaten now and slowly rising up the league.( Only 3rd bottom now :) ) Mind, pretty much the entire team is different to the one that started the season.

:shock:
I've no *&^%ing idea where '1-1' came from WNS - sorry - unless Full-Time posted it wrong first time around - scores are fed in by BOTH Club Secs via txt as far as I know?

Must admit I nearly looked twice when I posted that but as I wrote, was being howled at by 'FoC famille' to go and watch something so it may well have been me.... :oops:
- odd that I didn't check really as I posted some brief comments on all the other games in that division? :?

Not seen them get many scores wrong in the past; though anything with 'FA' in it's web address has a chequered history ...my lads team's scores are posted on the same platform and are often left with wrong scores on for up to a week or more before someone corrects them....

...RE bottom of that division: from above Ab Utd, there is a fascinating upswing in form, from the next 6 clubs in the 'at risk' zone. Will make for a great tussle, especially if they all manage to start taking points off of the clubs at the upper end of the league - e.g. Milton fighting out a draw at Ascot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...not sure where to head tonight - lots of rain forecast for this evening - closest and easiest bet would be Hellenic Div One Holyport v Chalfont Wasps but there's not much cover; the bar is f£(&ing miles away from the pitch at Summerleaze and Wasps have the 'odd' no-show tendency - so will need to keep a close eye on that.
Other choices are a tad far if I'm doing drop-off at Cubs nr Whitley around 19:00 - quite fancied Aylesbury v Chalfont (the other ones from 'St Peter' - Wasps are from St Giles) in the SL Div One Central but the 'hosts' are good choice for Saturday - H v 'Ducks' the better known Aylesbury club - United.
Could make a dash back across town and try for The Loop where Diddy are hosting Supermarine
UPDATE - just started checking tonight's list and there's a swathe of games already called off including Godalming v Hanwell - which I was considering too :(
You're right, both clubs text in the result but it's only the most recent score line sent in that Full-Time will display.
It's a bit harsh to pin the blame for wrong scores on the FA as its down to each individual leagues admin to check and correct.
SOUTH1S&W
AFC Totton v Winchester City
Bashley v Wimborne Town
13:00 Burnham v Marlow
North Leigh v Didcot Town - saw Diddy on Tuesday night; nearly all the other games were rained off or Abandoned if they started - 'Railwaymen' sloshed somewhat ineptly to a 0-1 defeat at home to Supermarine who scored on 86' minutes due to a goal that was more 'submarine': long range low shot that sort of dribbled/skimmed in off the post with the home keeper wrong-footed. :lol: tbf fair it was a filthy night for football and driving but at least it lasted the full 90' unlike Fleet and Holyport
Wantage Town v Swindon Supermarine
14:00 Penn & Tylers Green v Chinnor
Will try and prise youngest out of bed early enough, to attempt the obligatory "Anorak's B/H double" - either two games down nr Brizzle or possibly another early KO nearer home (Ardley or Northwood) then on somewhere not too far away for 15:00.
...and two more worth a mention - one very close by - on Sunday
Sunday 27th December
ISTH1S
South Park v Guernsey
HELLP
13:00 Bracknell v Ascot Utd
... might sneak off to Larges Lane for the 'big one' 'Robins' on the up and needing points, 'Yellamen' slightly off the boil of late, so could be a surprise in store. Minor problem is my wife has invited MY family to us for the PM - I suggested they turn up from 16:00h onwards :wink: - may even pass some of them on the A329(M) as half of them live in .... Bracknell!
...they are coming thick and fast .... here's the NL matches scheduled for Monday 28th December - watch out for the 'block' early KOs in the Combined Counties.
Might try and 'double-up' one with the MadStad at 15:00 (Sandhurst being the easiest) ... there are even some silly games in the step below that (STEP07) Surrey 'Elite' League which KO even earlier at 11:00 that I might consider.. :P ... but the weather may have a say in that...
Monday 28th December
NAT
Eastleigh v Aldershot Town
Woking v Boreham Wood
NATN
Worcester City v Brackley Town
NATS
Basingstoke Town v Hayes & Yeading Utd
Concord Rangers v Bishop's Stortford
Dartford v Margate
Havant & Waterlooville v Bath City
Maidenhead United v Hemel Hempstead Town
Maidstone United v Eastbourne Borough
St Albans City v Chelmsford City
Wealdstone v Sutton United
Weston-Super-Mare v Oxford City
Whitehawk v Ebbsfleet United
CCLP all KOs 11:30 unless shown
13:00 Ashford Town (Middx) v Windsor
Camberley Town v Hartley Wintney
12:30 Chertsey Town v Colliers Wood United
Farnham Town v Guildford City
Hanworth Villa v Bedfont Sports
Horley Town v Epsom & Ewell
12:30 Knaphill v Westfield
Raynes Park Vale v Chessington & Hook United
Spelthorne Sports v AFC Hayes
CCL1 all KOs 11:30
Abbey Rangers v Sheerwater
Ash United v Frimley Green
Farleigh Rovers v Banstead Athletic
CB Hounslow v Bedfont & Feltham
Cobham v Staines Lammas
Dorking Wanderers Res v Epsom Athletic
Sandhurst Town v Eversley & California
HELLP
12:00 Highworth Town Royal Wootton Bassett
Milton United v Abingdon United ...bit of a 6 pointer down the bottom
..went to Larges Lane this (Sunday) lunchtime; saw a very tight affair twixt 'Robins' and 'Yellamen'. Crowd of 284 witnessed the visitors grab all three points with a close range header on about the 30' mark - 'Robins' had most of the ball but Grace in the Ascot goal was equal to anything thrown at him and had cut out the errors that undid his side at Camberley in the Vase a week or so back. Ascot pressed late for a 2nd as Bracknell tired but found the home defence equally resilient.
Bracknell are definitely improving but with the sides around them all picking up points, they'll need to climb out and away from the bottom 4 sharpish. The one thing still in their favour is they have 3 or 4 games in hand on most of their fellow strugglers. Their next few fixtures are pretty tough but if they can grab a few moral boosting points from those, they'll face a vital couple of games early Feb against other sides just above them in the bottom 6
HELL1E
14:00 Old Woodstock Town v Bicester Town
Henley Town v Rayners Lane
HELL1W
14:00 Letcombe v Purton
...belated update of NL scores from Monday:
Monday 28th December
NAT
Eastleigh 1-1 Aldershot Town
Woking 0-0 Boreham Wood
NATN
Worcester City 0-0 Brackley Town
NATS
Basingstoke Town 1-0 Hayes & Yeading Utd - Manny Williams early 2nd half - 'Dragons' still 6 points from safety and have played more matches than the pack above them.
Concord Rangers 2-2 Bishop's Stortford
Dartford 1-1 Margate
Havant & Waterlooville P-P Bath City
Maidenhead United 2-3 Hemel Hempstead Town - 'Magpies' three down by H/T rallied briefly late on with two goals in as many minutes
Maidstone United 2-1 Eastbourne Borough
St Albans City 1-1 Chelmsford City
Wealdstone P-P Sutton United
Weston-Super-Mare P-P Oxford City
Whitehawk 0-1 Ebbsfleet United
CCLP
Ashford Town (Middx) 2-1 Windsor att :205
Camberley Town 3-1 Hartley Wintneyonly 2nd defeat this season for The Row – now only one point ahead with one game in hand of Ashford
Chertsey Town 0-1 Colliers Wood United
Farnham Town 2-2 Guildford City
Hanworth Villa 2-1 Bedfont Sports
Horley Town 2-2 Epsom & Ewell
Knaphill P-P Westfield - and postponed the following evening (29th) even trying to switch to Westfield was to no avail, as it was waterlogged there too!
Raynes Park Vale 3-2 Chessington & Hook United
Spelthorne Sports 3-2 AFC Hayes
CCL1
Abbey Rangers 2-1 Sheerwater
Ash United 2-1 Frimley Green
Farleigh Rovers P-P Banstead Athletic
CB Hounslow 4-1 Bedfont & Feltham att 121 - as lodgers and leaders beat landlords
Cobham 1-0 Staines Lammas
Dorking Wanderers Res P-P Epsom Athletic
Sandhurst Town 4-0 Eversley & California att: 40
- Was at this - bit of a turn up as the ‘Fizzers’ beat the decidedly below par ‘Boars’ at Bottom Meadow.
HELLP
Highworth Town {EIGHT} 8-0 Royal Wootton Bassett - reportedly RWBT were another side who seem to have over-indulged during the holiday period
Milton United 1-5 Abingdon United - bit of a shock for Milton and not a great result for Bracknell who drop back to 2nd bottom - though Ab. Utd have played SEVEN more games and of course it keeps Milton who have played 5 more games, in range of the ‘Robins’.
HELL1E
Old Woodstock Town 0-2 Bicester Town
Henley Town 2-1 Rayners Lane
HELL1W
Letcombe 2-1 Purton - villagers or 'Brooksiders' as they are tagged, are now up to 6th - a great position following their recent dark days as perennial wooden-spoon contenders in this division.
(Played Tuesday night)
HELL1E
RTFC 3-2 Wantage Town Reserves – 2nd win in three games puts the Scours Lane boys above Old Woodstock Town and only a point behind their lodgers Woodley United. Quick return game vs Freds’ stiffs this coming Saturday (2nd Jan) – whilst Woodley host OWT.
Other results from yesterday (Tuesday 29th) :
FA Vase 3rd Round replay
Brimscomb & Thrupp 0-2 Moneyfields
ISTHP
Staines 2-0 Farnborough
WESSP
Whitchurch Utd 3-2 Andover Town
WESS1
Alton Town 5-1 Andover New Street
Tadley Calleva 5-1 Fleet Spurs
- Got out to this – good game – Tadley were far superior all over the pitch than sorry Spurs who only turned up with one sub. Would imagine that the hosts will rise up the table sharply on this showing; they have plenty of games on hand due to some prolonged cup runs. I suspect the top three places are out of reach though.
Have Tadley still got the lad up tops who scored a hatful last season?
...can't be absolutely certain as the usual source of info for this sort of query is a bit thin. They didn't issue a programme on Tuesday and I'm not the real heavy-duty Anorak, who doggedly seeks out a team sheet from an official, or studiously writes down the names off of the wipeboard, that the home club is supposed to put up in in view for each match ...
.. and their own website is not exactly packed with current data.
However - looking at the league stats from Full-Time - Brett Denham is probably the guy you mean - seemingly got 40 goals last term (top scorer in the division) and he is reported to have notched 6 in 8 games this.
Sadly the current season's details on the official league site are also a bit thin; as supplied by Tadley for their games in 15-16 - they haven't been posting up their match stats of: players used, subs, cards and more importantly goal scorers.
I suspect he may have been the smaller forward (no 9) who was certainly involved in all of their goals in some way or another and scored with a typical 'grabbers' showboating back-heel late on.
Had a quick search and of course (maybe as you'd expect for a prolific striker 8) ) he has his very own twitter account and has posted that he notched a hat-trick vs Fleet Spurs this Tuesday and states "it's good to be back" - seemingly had been out for 7 weeks prior to the Vase replay a week or so back - explains why he hasn't been playing much in 15-16.
Windsor lose another player.
With the planned new 'all weather' training pitches in Dedworth i assume another income stream for the club in the future is closed so the current set up of giving young players a go and then losing them will carry on and on and on and on.
