Mr.Swainey
Silver Fox That's exactly why this could be an even bigger achievement than Forest

I'm not sure whether people will agree with me, but I do think football nowadays is of a better quality than it was 30 odd years ago. Players seem to be fitter, technically more adept and the game is played at a higher pace.

Therefore, Leicester > Forest.

This

Last time I checked Leicester didn't go out and break the transfer record or sign the best keeper in the country.

Not to mention the likes of McGovern O'Hare and Gemmill who already had a league title winners medal under their belts. Not to belittle their achievements but I do think the Leicester win as a single season achievement tops it.

I'd also throw out there that what Atletico have done over the last few years domestically and in Europe has been an incredible story. they've sold a oxf*rd ton of their best players yet it doesn't seem to stop them. It's just the Simeone factor makes them hard to love I guess.

If you're meaning Trevor Francis for the transfer record then that was the season after they won the league.

I realise that. It was just an example of how Forest times were different back then.

Correct.

Essence of the post is true though, and I also disagree with EILers. This was a time when the top few clubs in the second tier were better than much of the bottom half of the first division. Signing Shilton and Gemmill catapulted Forest into challengers. Still a terrific achievement, and of course what came next in Europe was incredible. But it was a different age.

It really is sinking in today what a terrible season Chelsea have had when we've finished below Premier League minnows. Still, I'm positive we can finish above Liverpool again next season.

Conte's target is diminishing by the week.

Surely if Leicester can win it gives other Premier League minnows like Liverpool hope.

Is the same source who told you Norwood was POTS?

Tottenham should go for him, would be perfect for them

Why would he want to join a club that won't win the Premier League?

Such a shame to see this side break up somewhat but you can see him leaving as literally command a whopping £100k + a week salary now.

The Kante release clause being talked about in the media is £20M, not £25M

If true you would have to think there will be a number of clubs offering that

I see Chelsea are linked. Why would he go there, when they can't even offer European football?

on all seriousness, football is a short career, for a 25 year old who has never played European football before and just secured it, that would be a massive step down to just give it all up. I think it would say a lot about his character tbh.

Claudio Ranieri I love the English spirit because when I was a player I was an Englishman, I was fighting and you had to kill me if you wanted to win. I love this.

He really knows how to say all the right things, doesn't he.

When he coached his final game at Chelsea his players formed honor guard as he exited. Now he will enter Stamford Bridge for the last game of this season through an honor guard as a champion with both sets of supporters singing his praises. People may focus, and rightly so, on what Leicester's achievement means for the city, for all the smaller clubs and their supporters. For me it will always represent redemption for someone who was always on the cusp of a great achievement that was never realized...until now.

Dilly-ding, dilly-dong...

If I was him I would walk away now. his stock will never be higher in Leicester fans eyes and maybe in english football fans eyes. if he stays he can only dent his new found reputation.
