Oh how i would laugh if they gave Mick a call back

At the end of the day, they need someone who is better than MM that can take the club forward.......unless they poach, there isn't much left for them to choose from

Frankly, Wolves are acting like a desperate bloke as the last slow dance of the disco begins, asking every and any girl to dance in the hope of getting a snog.

Pathetic, unedifying……and totally hilarious to see them acting like this!!! They are really making themselves look like a laughing stock.

Apparantly the next manager in the frame is Ian Holloway...

Reading that Wolves site is hilarious; it starts with the name of someone and people saying "ooh - he is brilliant" or "Nah - we deserve someone better than THAT!"; then, as the odds on the betting exchanges tumble, and the rumours of "talks" start appearing on twitter, there is an almost Messianic conversion to the fact that this Manager IS THE ONE, and will bring them back their glory days etc etc; shortly afterwards comes the inevitable rejection by said manager, immediately followed by posts of "He would have been rubbish" or "I told you we deserved someone better than that".

Go back to the name of new Manager and repeat.

And repeat.

And repeat.

Its the joke that never stops giving.

They'll be contacting Joe Kinnear next.

Moral of the story: if you're going to dump the manager of your relegation-zone team this late in the season, you'd better make sure you've got someone lined up. Perhaps they thought they had Warnock lined up.

interestingly, neil warnock has said he spoke to a couple of clubs before taking the leeds job. that basically means he spoke to wolves and huddersfield and felt leeds was the better of three.

he chose the biggest club of the three which happened to be the most local. he was happy to work in london, so the midlands wouldn't have bothered him. leeds will be in the promotion mix this season. wolves will very likely go in the other direction. easy decision.

according to the local press up there he still hasn't heard a peep since his interview a week ago. it's all a bit of a farce really. he has the experience they want, and he's available now. he must also be happy with the short-term to long-term contract on offer, so why don't they get him? however, if he does take it then he knows his interview wasn't very convincing, and wolves sounded out several other targets, all of which either rejected them, or they weren't allowed to talk to the manager. i'm not sure if i was bruce that i'd want the job now, being 5th or 6th choice.

Just a little LOL to end the day.

Mick McCarthy's twitter.

You don't know what you've got till it's gone...and that's even more relevant when you're embarrassing yourselves trying to replace it.

You posted it at 12.17. YateleyRoyal questioned your proof. I posted a Guardian link (first published at 10.22) at 12.27 which carried the story that he'd turned down a long-term contract, but was mulling over a short-term offer. My second post at 1.19 confirmed he'd turned down Wolves' short-term offer – taken from the modified Guardian story at 1.14.

No Fixed Abode McDermott to Wolves on a three year deal.

Any news on this?
