Shame that the odd moment of genius was vastly outnumbered by moments of sheer shitness.

Clolueloless.

He was consistently one of our best players for the past 3.5 seasons and hasn't had a run of bad games since the Rodgers era.

This is a big blow to our hopes of automatic promotion IMO, we're going to have to depend more on McCleary who has so far been inconsistent.

He's potentially been one of our best players, but to suggest he's not had a run of bad games under McDermott is a bit far fetched. Whenever he came back from injury he was poor.

Hhis reluctance to actually ran at and go past defenders for runs of games made him half the player he should've been.

clearly an instruction from the manager in the prem last year.

I've long advocated the strategy of doubling up on the wings, ceding the centre ground entice them in before surrounding and smashing our opponents. I suggest a new position between the winger and the full back...could use a little help with an appropriate name

So, basically, this..... and look where it got the Germans....

SCIAG
Hoop Blah As for being a blow for our promotion chances I disagree on that. Shifting out Kebe should free up funds to make further improvements and bring in players more suited to Adkins style. I think that will ultimately make us stronger.

Players as good as Kebe don't come along every day of the week.

I don't buy the "not suited to Adkins' style" line for one second. I reckon Adkins would have taken him ahead of any of the right wingers he had at Southampton.

he was the one player he mentioned when talking about the decision to come here

~' i looked at the squad and said...theyve got jimmy kebe, that'll do.'

paraphrased of course

2.8 lita injection Seems to be a lot of footage out their of the Kebe playing for Reading and looking useful 8)

If Luke Anthony had been filming events there would have been far more footage of Kebe looking injured!

44, 47, 42 and 33 appearances for us in four Championship seasons.

Colin Cheeselog Meh.

This.

Heart - and a footballing brain - the size of a pea. desperately poor final ball. What was he good at? Running fast. Brilliant.

The fact that he is so beloved compared to an intelligent, hard-working footballer like McAnuff sums up why Reading fans generally deserve to support such a rubbish football team.

Consistently one of our best players for the past 3.5 seasons?

The only thing consistent about him during that time was his injury record. The other 'record' was the length of time he took to recover from injuries compared to most other players. I really hope we haven't offered any guarantees!

And if Nick Hammond has managed to avoid the fee being appearance related then he truly has worked a miracle! If, on the other hand, it is appearance related, we can look forward to receiving just a few thousand quid.

KC Royal
Scutterbucketz I wonder what CP fans make of this. I'd be excited if he wasn't so very injury prone.

Not bothered how much we got for him because we sure as fukk won't spend it on players.

Would have preferred to keep him tbh.

Looking at their forum yesterday it seems to be generally positive with the odd concern about his injuries. Some thought they maybe had too many wingers if Kebe signed though.

If the fee is 2m then that's fine with me as that was the fee I was hoping for (whether that is appearance related or not).

I would much rather have kept him too,

The only valid reason for keeping him would be to keep Luke Anthony fully occupied!

LOL_ so team of fans expressing the h8 for our jimmy consists of big mike, floyd street, semtex, 72 bus and royal blue.

Many so-called "football experts" from HNA seem to forget that Jimmy Kebe does what he wants.

Really not bothered. Why? Because he clearly couldn't be bothered either.

Oh Jimmy's got a knock. Three weeks out. Plays one game, pretty poorly. Got a knock. Three weeks out. Repeat paraphrase ad infinitum.

He clearly got the nark at something last season and went all gallic and shruggy. If he didn't care, we don't need him. "We move on."

Are you lot oxf*rd retarded? Shortest oxf*rd memories of any fans out there. There are RUMOURS, nothing more, of him deliberately not playing, rumours which he's flatly denied and no one has confirmed, and suddenly he's Joseph oxf*rd Fritzl. Blaming him for his injuries? Smooth.

Last year:
With Kebe = 19 games, 5 defeats
Without Kebe = 25 games, 19 defeats

That says a lot. He's a Premier League player. Sure, he had bad games. They were rare. A lot of you are mistaking 'good' for 'shit', and using the fact he can play out of his skin as a reason to slate him for having decent if unspectacular games. Well you've all got what you wanted, the bad man is leaving you all alone and you're now left with the even more inconsistent and perennially greedy McCleary, Hal 'One-Foot' Kanu and the one player the Reading massive seem to crucify above all others, the gut-busting role model McAnuff to partner Drenthe on the wings.

Rewrite history however you want, but he's been the best player we've had for an age. Even 11/12, arguably his worst season for us, his 'shocking delivery' resulted in Roberts' first and Le Fondre's winner against Saints and won us the league. In our comeback against Brom who scored the first and won the penalty for the second? Who beat Sunderland for us? I'm well aware I sound like a whiny shit but I'd rather that than the grumpy old git that's sitting in front of most of your computer screens.

These are all facts.

My over riding memory of Mr Kebe will probably involve beating four men and putting the cross into row R.

Unplayable on his day, but his days were so infrequent that he wasn't even a regular for the footballing hotbed that is Mali.....

Oh thanks Brynjar. I didn't really have too strong an opinion either way until you came out with said stats.

Previously, I thought, "well, it's fine because he's never fit and he is inconsistent." I also thought "what a shame, on his day, he is unplayable."

Now you've upset me a little with top stats like that.
