The most disturbing thing for me is that Stevie seems to have lost his squeak.

Alan Partridge
LUX hang on, have we been there three times?

I was at the Luton and Bolton games, fair enough. What was the third?

I said it was two and handbags_harris corrected me that it was 3, some random tournament! Can't remember what it was!

knowing handbags it will be some obsure tournament no one has ever heard of and played in front of about 20 people bit like the Setanta Shield.
We've played at Wembley Stadium twice.

We also played once at Wembley Arena in one of those 6-a-side tournaments that were all the rage in the 80s, but it would be stretching credularity to say that counts as playing at Wembley three times.

The only random tournament played at Wembley was the "centenary challenge" in 1988, when 16 clubs (watched by about as many fans) took part in a tournament over one weekend. We weren't among them.

would be good to be kept up to date with ticket prices for the final, RFC have a keeper on loan there, and a good few on here have a soft spot for the club and might be able to pop along, Bruce Stuckey eat ya heart out, goal direct from a corner at Brentford all those years ago, and now a singer I believe.

Great hair too back then, any other RFC TFC links??

Colin Lee I know about, must be more

i doubt it.the bottom rung will not be the end of ambition.no one at the 'shots believe that football in the top division(bar a cup match) will ever grace the rec...but division one must be a realistic aim..

speaking of Non-league, I noticed in the paper that Maidenhead's match at Dorchester was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. Not that amazing, except that it was called off in the 86th minute. Even for someone as naturally pernickety as a referee, that's just being picky.

That is ridiculous.

I played in a match once ( low league footie  ) and we were virtually playing our nearest rivals for the league title.
The pitch was a boggy mess from the start and shouldn't have gone past half-time truth be told.
We were 4-0 up with 10 minutes to go at most and the ref (one of our players ) abandoned the game. Our goalie ( who was a lay preacher  ) nearly decked him!!

Fortunately we won the replay 2-1. 8)

Pizza's delivered to the Shots dressing room at 90 minutes, shame they'll have to wait another 30 minutes before they can eat them.

Celtic knocked out of the Cup by Aberdeen.

Where are all those shamrock badges that kept cropping up as avatars a year or so back? It's all gone a bit quiet now.

Only thing is Rangers are fighting on three fronts and Celtic just now the one and potentially still three more old firm games to come!
