Four Of Clubs Anyone remember Darren Campbell ?- I saw him when he came on for us in a 3-0 (?) win at Vicarage Rd a few years back - sadly retired from pro-football with injury - he was a non-playing sub for Fleet but has featured quite a lot for them this season. Programme from Tue eve says he captained Scotland U19s.
There was another kiddy played that evening @ Watford - think Curo bagged a couple - but can't think of his name and I'm too idle to dig out the prog - if I've still got it!

Those 11 minutes were Campbell's only appearance for the 1st team. Castle was the other youngster that night. Cureton, Henderson and Rougier scored.

Graham's report from the match...

... many thanks - I just remember it was bl@@dy wet and we'd parked miles away (for free) by the Underground Station - was well worth it though - think the long unhappy sequence of 0-0s vs the Hornets was just about to start.

Ex Royal (and Simod Cup winning player) Mick Tait is new manager of Blyth Spartans, one of his first objectives, is to sign last seasons 47 goal Paul Brayson from Newcastle Blue Star.

Looks like Torquay will be joining Burton in Div 2..........Tim Sills has just hit #2

 Great day, great result, indeed over the moon.

Big gamesh (shteve mclaren might say) are won and lost by teams big players and Torquay's main men stepped up the plate today.

Incredible season some ups and downs and a deserved promotion. Chris Todd diagnosed with leaukemia back before the season ends and imperious at the back, Chris Hargreaves 37 the other day still absolutely brilliant in the middle for the Gulls, great first goal.

BedLOLam when the 2nd was superbly headed some by Sills, just delighted. So so important to get into the league this season as BSP is going to be even tougher next season. Trips to HAyes, Gateshead, Grays and Barrow I just couldn't face again. The respect and prestige of being a football league club again is huge.

I am still buzzing, brilliant from the lads and the management team.

Bring on League 2! 8) 8)

Can confirm that sadly this is true. A sad loss to football - no-one else will ever have the dedication and energy to produce the same level of useful information about the game as Tony did - and he was a thoroughly nice man, too.

RIP

RIP indeed - as a mark of respect the NL Forum has a black surround/background.

His own magnificent main site will be 'frozen' but there is already an army of volunteers working together to create a new one in his honour.

How it was announced yesterday evening:-

Final Whistle Has Been Blown

E-Mail (titled as above) just received from Stuart Kempster.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is with deepest regret that I am E-mailing you (from my Dad’s account) to inform you that he passed away last night, peacefully at home.

I’ll contact you again with more information on funeral and donation arrangements as Dad’s request once I know them.

Kind Regards,
Stuart
