Royalclapper Interesting sub-plot to follow most years when the PL spending machine starts rolling is to watch if the new signings make an impact.

Jose seems to have chosen wisely with Costa & Fabregas, Sanchez also looking like good business for Arsenal. These 3 are way in front of the other big money deals at this stage.

Knew Costa would fit in effortlessly at Chelsea, gets plenty of goals, had a great season with Atletico............but mostly because he's easy to dislike and he looks like Gus Poyet's son.

There aren't huge similarities.

LOL, my bad.

I meant he could be passed off as Poyet's son rather than looking like his actual son :?

He looks like he could be Poyet's son's grandad.

Not entirely sure what was up with them last night - they tried hard but Maribor matched them. Hazard's penalty was woeful.

Yeh - we didn't play well until the substitutions - we should have won in the end.

Two penalties not given. Foul on Oscar and the one where the Maribor defender tried to swap shorts. Then there was the disallowed 'offside' goal which wasn't offside. Poor overall, but still should have won comfortably - it was echo's of last season with not taking the numerous chances we created against the so called lesser sides.

Schurrle is embarrassing sometimes, seemed to make the wrong choice every time. Was strange after the subs too - Drogba seemed to go wide right and Costa left. Agreed re the offside goal - wrong decision.

Strange one, is Schurrle. He's a bit of Rougier, either total shite, or he has an absolutely 'worldie'.

I think he's a man without a real position. He isn't a striker, he lacks the discipline to be a winger, and seems to struggle playing in the hole. He's just a general attacker, and quite often looks lost.

Had a fantastic World Cup though, IMO - which makes it even stranger that he's not had a blistering season (so far)

Shirley has lots of potential and his work r8 is great - but yes, he's annoying a lot of the time with his finishing and general play in the final third. Often makes the wrong decision.

3 months into the season and we're still unbeaten yet Jose still hasn't won manager of the month. The Premier League certainly likes giving these awards to the smaller clubs.

Does seem harsh.

Though maybe it's because they look at his squad and money and think, "no shit you are unbeaten".

Have Rodgers or Van Gaal picked up manager of the month?

He's only won 3 MoTM awards in his time in England, clearly a vendetta against him

Plenty of teams have beaten Liverpool and Man Utd this season though?
