Four Of Clubs .... yesterday's NL results

Paulton Rovers 2-0 Winchester City

Winch's season is finishing the way it started - badly. The manager was sacked a couple of weeks ago, and since then we've lost 3-0 at home and 2-0 away, with the new player manager getting himself sent off. Players are mysteriously "unavailable", and the burger van needs replacing. Perhaps I should start watching Reading again.

.... there were a few games played locally midweek but not of much significance

In the CCL with most issues done/dusted Windsor lost narrowly 2-1 at Champions Hartley W. and Camberley hopped up to 6th with a 3-0 win at N.Greenford.
In the 1st Division Chess 'n Hook have obviously benefitted from having a much improved and playable Chalky Lane all season, to wrap up their league campaign nice and early. They currently sit in 2nd place behind Banstead- who have just suffered two home 0-0's - but the next half-a-doz clubs below C&H are in range and the have up to 5 games left to play.
The leaders minor wobble has happened too late for anyone to make up a significant challenge, only Redhill 11 points back with 2 winnable games in hand have a very long shot at it - but their last couple of fixtures look tough: away at AC London and home to close rivals Bagshot.

There were a couple of Hellenic fixtures too - Binfield putting Oxford City Nomads deeper in trouble with a 2-1 win at Court Place Farm - that finishes the 'Moles' league games and they end in 8th place - a minor disappointment perhaps but they have had some major squad upheavals in 16-17. Brackley Saints pulled themselves clear of bother with a somewhat surprisingly easy win 3-1 over Highworth. That bodes well for Bracknell's chances of grabbing a vital win over the same opponents this coming w/e and probably with it the title - unless Thame can put double figures past a doomed Henley - which isn't unfeasible. :?
Elsewhere Flackwell Heath rounded off their campaign by winning through to the Floodlit Cup Final where they will play Lydney @ Kidlington FC next Wednesday.
The Challenge Cup Final will be played on Tue 18th April - apparently @ Highworth between the hosts and Brimscomb & Thrupp.

Moving higher up the pyramid in the National North Brackley and FC Halifax drew a blank and in the Southern section Hungerford drew 1-1 at Poole.

Fair amount of action in the Southern League - Hayes & Yeading thumped bottom club Cinderford 5-0 to give themselves an outside shot at staying out of the bottom four - they have a vital 'home' game tomorrow (Friday) night) against lower mid-table Stratford - a win would lift them momentarily out of the drop zone above Kings Langley - who travel to 2nd placed Leamington on Saturday.

Farnborough drew 0-0 in the Central division at PO chasing Kempston - they may well meet again after the regular season, as this draw hands the title to Royston and condemns the Cherrywood Road side to the lottery of the Play Offs. They could also meet Marlow who sit just above Kempston in the last PO spot. AFC Dunstable and Barton Rovers make up the other sides - with Egham probably having too much to do to muscle in; though they could do themselves a favour if they could grab a win at AFC Dunstable on Saturday.

In the S&W division Nor Lye bashed Barnstaple 4-2 but are probably too far adrift to reach the POs

- caught a game in this league on Wed evening - very pleasant amble (actually drove like a nutter to get there for KO ) :mrgreen: . Went to Andover New Street 0-3 Hamble Club - saw a lively encounter with the Champions easing past 2nd bottom ANS - wasn't all one-way and the home side belied their lowly position and regular whipping-boy status to put up a good fight - perhaps too literally as they were reduced to 10 men midway though first half. :?
Indeed they have something about them and shocked the 2nd placed Baffins 3-1 last week and it was evident why.
Hamble were too classy though, especially going forward and might make a good impact on the Wessex Premier next year - promoted clubs up out of the Hants/Daaarset Leagues often do e.g. Portland are tearing up trees this season as new boys in the higher division having stormed through Div One at the first attempt much like Hamble have done.

Escaped domestic bliss this evening (Fri) and trekked up to Wantage for the N.Berks War Memorial Cup Final - held every year for clubs outside the top (First) division.
Saw a tight encounter : Westminster (Oxford) 1-0 Harwell Village - latter now based inside the Research facility, not down in the village itself - which is a shame cos that was a cracking little ground with a really nice clubhouse, serving a selection of West Berks Brewery Ales.
Their opponents, I believe, grew out of the Education Institute/Teacher Training College within Oxford Brookes Univ and formed around 2011, where they joined the bottom division of the N.Berks and have risen to the 2nd level. They do not play on the Harcourt Campus site now but have moved out to the village of Appleton NW of Abingdon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Destination tomorrow (hopefully) another Essex/Suffolk borders 'tick' : Isthmian Premier (22nd vs 1st) AFC Sudbury v Bognor Regis Town
Formed in 1999 with a merger of the town's two former clubs: Wanderers & Town - home side have installed a 3G pitch at the start of 14-15 season. They have the honour of appearing (& losing) in three consecutive FA Vase Finals 03/04 & 05 - the last occasion going down 2-3 to Didcot at Tottenham's White Hart La. The 'AFC' actually stands for Amalgamated Football Club
Results from Saturday 8th April:
NAT
Aldershot Town 1-1 Torquay United
Barrow 2-2 WokingCards put a dent in Barrow’s PO surge & remain just outside the bottom four on GD over Braintree - beaten at home by Dover – who move level on points with the Sh!ts in the last PO spot. Dover have a game in hand.
NATN
Altrincham 1-3 Brackley Town - Saints probably have too much to make up, to finish top 5 now - 4 points off with only 4 to play; their home form has held them back this term – away they have the joint best record in the division with Stockport – similarly sitting outside a PO spot albeit only on GD.
NATS
Chelmsford City 3-0 Poole Town
Concord Rangers 0-5 Bath City
Dartford 4-3 Eastbourne Borough– all the goals scored by 60’
Maidenhead United 2-1 East Thurrock United
St Albans City 1-1 Margate
Truro City 1-1 Ebbsfleet United
Wealdstone 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Welling United 4-0 Gosport Borough
Weston-Super-Mare 5-0 Bishops Stortford
Whitehawk 1-2 Hungerford Town Luke Williams grabs 94’ winner for Crusaders who trailed going into the last ½ hr - Warren Bentley levelled. They are still 6th - 4 points behind Poole who were well beaten at Chelmsford, both have 4 to play.
ILP
Staines Town 1-1 Canvey Island
Winchester City 0-0 Larkhall Athletic
Yate Town 3-2 North Leigh
CCLP
Abbey Rangers 1-4 Colliers Wood United
Badshot Lea 1-3 Windsor
Spelthorne Sports 2-1 Chertsey Town
Walton & Hersham 2-0 Camberley Town
Westfield
4-1 Sutton Common Rovers
CCL1
Bagshot 0-4 Balham
Banstead Athletic 1-1 Frimley Green - leaders continue to stutter but with the ‘Lobsters’ losing at Sheerwater they still have an iron grip on the title – 12 points clear with a 28 goals advantage over Redhill, who only have 4 games left.
Cobham 3-2 Farleigh Rovers
Epsom Athletic P-P AC London - reportedly some home players unavailable due to matters matrimonial.
Sheerwater 1-0 Redhill
South Park Reserves 0-2 Ash United
Staines Lammas 2-1 Cove
Worcester Park 4-0 Eversley & California
HELLP
Bracknell Town 1-2 Highworth Town att 703 Robins led at H/T but were aware that Thame were racking up the goals at hapless Henley – by some reports their confidence on the field drained as each of the goals went in at Mill Lane, allowing Highworth to turn the game and hand the title to Thame, who in the end would have only needed a draw.
Brimscombe & Thrupp 2-3 Ascot United - Yellamen finally stop the rot following 7 straight defeats.
Henley Town 0-9 {NINE} Thame United
Longlevens AFC 3-4 Ardley United
Lydney Town 3-2 Brackley Town Saints
HELL1E
AFC Aldermaston 0-2 Chalfont Wasps
Headington Amateurs 3-2 Chinnor
Sandhurst Town 1-0 Rayners Lane
Wantage Town Res 0-9 {NINE} Bicester Town
Wokingham & Emmbrook 1-2 Didcot Town Res
Woodley United 3-0 Holyport – Utd now only sit 3 points behind long time leaders Penn & Tylers. They can draw level on points at the top tomorrow night (Mon) if they win at Scours/Rivermoor vs Chinnor. P&TG have a local ‘dust-up’ the following night at home to Chalfont Wasps and finish their league programme away at Headington on Easter Monday. Woodley play their final league game the following Wednesday (19th) also at home to Chalfont Wasps. GD is vastly in Penn’s favour so Woodley will have to win both games and hope their rivalshave dropped something.
Both clubs are involved in Cup Finals: Woodley play Marlow Utd in the B&B Intermediate Final on Sat the 15th Apr @ Larges Lane – P&T are in the Wycombe Final vs Thame Rangers at Flackwell early in May; as well as reaching the Q-F stage of the Supplementary Cup – they play Bicesternext Saturday
HELL1W
Letcombe 0-3 Abingdon United
North Leigh 2-3 Shrivenham
Woodstock Town 2-0 Milton United rare win for the bottom club
WESSP
Cowes Sports 1-4 Andover Town
Fareham Town 1-1 Alresford Town
Moneyfields {SIX} 6-0 Whitchurch United ‘Jam Boys’ beaten heavily at the table toppers, looking nervously behind them now, after Fawley get a big win at Amesbury (4-2) and move within a point. The sides meet at Longmeadow next Saturday.
Portland 1-0 Sholing – att 219 -2nd placed hanging on to leadersMoneyfields but games are running out for an unlikely change in leadership.
WESS1
Christchurch 2-0 Tadley Calleva
East Cowes Victoria 1-1 Fleet Spurs
Hamble Club {EIGHT} 8-0 Alton
Totton & Eling 3-1 Pewsey Vale
Weymouth Res 3-1 Andover New Street
Went to our first choice match up in Suffolk: saw Bognor Regis Town - current leaders of Isthmian Premier by a point from Havant & W., eased to a comfortable 4-0 win at AFC Sudbury. This dropped the home team into the bottom two and probably a quick return from whence they came last season – back into the Isthmian North.
One thing to note vistors ‘The Rocks’ goalkeeper was one Dan Lincoln, former Academy/Triallist at RFC – performed very well between the sticks and saved a late penalty too for good measure.
FoC, any idea what became of the Shorey and Harper acquisitions at Hungerford?
It's obvious that they haven't featured much this season.
Shorey is now a coach at Stevenage and Harper has gone somewhere too.
Windsor's 3-1 victory at Badshot Lea (Ash Utd's ground which was well grassed but hard as a road) consigned the Baggies to relegation.
Windsor's 14 players included 10 who were under 19 years of age.
Thanx Top Flight, would've thought Hungerford would've been a good fit for them at their stage of playing days........obviously I'm wrong again.
I guess it must just be Steve Sidwell from 2005/2006 that still plays professionally ?
Believe Shane Long might still be scratching a living as a professional somewhere...
Kevin Doyle is playing in the NASL/NASA/MLS or whatever it's called in the US
Four Of Clubs Bracknell Town 1-2 Highworth Town att 703
I've seen two bigger crowds at Larges Lane (about 1000 for an FA Cup RQ4 v Barnet, and about 1500 for the visit of Aldershot in Rymans Div3 in Aldershot's first season after reforming) but it must be several decades since so many home supporters turned up for a game.
Bracknell win the Berks and Bucks Cup with a 2.0 win over Binfield at Windsor. Pretty dire game tbh but a great win considering the lows of Saturday. Highlight being about 25 Bracknell Junior kids invading the pitch to bundle the winning goal scorer right at the end. A few tuts from neutrals but we thought it was pretty funny. Not many other teams would take that many kids to essentially an away game.
Talking of venue, nice pitch at Windsor but find it remarkable that they staged a cup final at a ground with 50 car parking spaces. Parking was carnage and Ascot was available apparently which has hundreds of spaces. Poor planning in many peoples view.
Wealdstone are into the final of the Middlesex Senior Cup after a comprehensive 2-0 victory away to Uxbridge in the Semi Finals. They now face Hampton & Richmond at Hampton & Richmond in the final. The Stones are well supported on the road and will likely take at least 400 with them for that showdown.
On Saturday they fought with 10 men from the 20th minute against Charlie Sheringham's (Son of Teddy) Hemel Hempstead Town. They went a goal down early on but battled back in the second half to snatch a point.
Teddy was in the crowd watching his boy play and Charlie is no where near the quality of his father. He has not inherited any of his Dad's footballing skills.
It was quite funny to see that Hemel Hempstead had a yoof firm. I wasn't really expecting any football hooliganism at this sort of level. Wealdstone has always seemed like a friendly sort of place. The club were prepared for some kind of trouble as for the first time that I have seen at a Wealdstone game there were Met Police officers and stewards at the ground. There were some kids in Stone Island gear trying to have a fight with the Stones fans. It was quite weird.
Yeah, can't say I enjoyed the game to be honest.
Fair point re the parking I suppose but there's plenty of parking available on the streets nearby. Thing is there are always complaints. Windsor have played finals on bone hard ploughed field pitches at Burnham, Beaconsfield and Flackwell which made for no sort of spectacle, and on one occasion, when playing Marlow, had to travel to Milton Keynes!
Ascot's pitch hasn't been brilliant at times in recent years - maybe the powers that be have decided to "reward" Windsor for the investment made in the pitch, or maybe they just want to play it on the best local pitch.
(More carnage last night as the U18s played their last home game of the season against Guildford, as there was a goalkeeping training session with about 60 kids at the same time.)
...here's the first Preview of a 'bumper' NL weekend:
Good Friday 14th April
NAT
Tranmere Rovers v Aldershot Town - live on BT Sport
Woking v Macclesfield Town
NATS
Bishops Stortford v Gosport Borough
Hungerford Town v Dartford
Maidenhead United v Concord Rangers – Magpies could potentially open an 8 point gap over 2nd placed Ebbsfleet, who play on Saturday. Both clubs are away on Easter Monday – MUFC have to trek down to Truro for their 'Holiday derby' :?’, whilst their rivals for top spot travel a slightly shorter distance along the N.Kent coast to ‘Margit. ’‘Fleet come to York Rd on Sat 22nd
Poole Town v Hemel Hempstead Town
Welling United v Truro City
Weston-Super-Mare v Margate
SLP
13:00 Slough Town v Cirencester Town
Weymouth v Chesham Utd
CCLP
13:00 Epsom & Ewell v Colliers Wood United
SLOUGH Town Cup Final
Langley v Thame Rangers @ The Gore Burnham FC [10:30 KO]
... will probably pop along to this one - I've been to a couple of these Finals recently - usually won by Thame Rgrs - if nothing else to escape the inevitable manic/panicked domestic strife/tidying duties chez FoCcers (see 'Easter eviction policy' below ) :mrgreen:
Could then do Sluff @ 13:00 and potentially dash back to get in after the start of Maidenhead v Concord game. Wider options available if I scratch the middle of the treble, leaving Arbour Park for another day. I could then trundle back home instead and head back out to York Rd: M'ways permitting (and they are often f£*&ed on Good Fri :| ) I could even pick another 'local' PM KO in the National leagues.
- if I'm feeling particularly ambitious, I might consider a tilt at Boreham Wood vs Daggers - it is a fairly close one that I'm yet to visit - will need to check on ticket options/parking etc for that one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Easter Saturday 15th April

NATS
East Thurrock United v Bath City
Ebbsfleet United v Eastbourne Borough
Hampton & Richmond Borough v Wealdstone
Oxford City v Chelmsford City
Whitehawk v St Albans City

ILP
Lowestoft Town v Staines Town
IL1S
Greenwich Borough v Godalming Town

SLP
Banbury United v Hitchin Town
Basingstoke Town v Cinderford Town
Dunstable Town v Hayes & Yeading United
SL1C
Aylesbury v Ashford Town (Mx)
Bedford Town v Beaconsfield SYCOB
Chalfont St Peter v Arlesey Town - Chalfont beaten 0-3 by Kempston last Tue
Egham Town v Hanwell Town
Farnborough v Histon
Kempston Rovers v Fleet Town Fleet progressed to the Aldersh!t Cup Final beating surprise semi-finalists the British Army, 3-0 at Calthorp Pk on Tue. They will now play the winners of Hartley Wintney or ‘A.N.Other’ in the Final @ the Rec : Wed 10th May – Camberley Town having been expelled somewhat belatedly from the competition, for fielding an ineligible player in an earlier round. I suspect losing Q-Finalists Farnham Town may be re-instated – will update when confirmed - not sure if Cambo have bothered to appeal and Farnham may not want to contest the S-F allowing HW a bye.

Kidlington v AFC Dunstable
Northwood v Marlow
Royston Town v Aylesbury United
Uxbridge v Barton Rovers
SL1S&W
Bideford v Evesham United

- Looks like it could be our match of choice for Sat – I get ‘evicted’ very early every Easter Sat, as the missus floods the house with hand-bellringers for the whole day. With such an ‘enforced’ early start it means my mate and I can try and tick an ambitious ‘longer-range’ tick. My daughter is also escaping to her boyfriends but both my sons have been drawn to the 'dark-side' so are inveigled into the Ringing event, rather than coming to football with their dear Ol' Dad. :| :lol:
- Available options were here or the remotest parts of East Anglia (Needham/Dereham/Lowestoft/Norwich Utd) . Since we’ve been marking off quite a few Essex/Suffolk clubs over the last couple of months we thought we ‘Go West’ – for change – hoping the M4/M5 etc behaves – not a lot of ‘new’ alternatives en route should we get snarled up. Traditionally the Western Leagues don’t play on an Easter Sat.

Larkhall Athletic v Didcot Town - 'Diddy' lost their ‘behind closed doors rematch' with Hereford 1-2 at the Loop on Tue –Railywaymen actually led from 2’ but Mills got the Bulls winner from the spot early 2nd half.

North Leigh v Paulton Rovers - Nor Lye bt Yate 2-1 midweek
Tiverton Town v Winchester City
Wantage Town v Slimbridge

CCLP
AFC Hayes v Knaphill
Bedfont Sports v Abbey Rangers
CB Hounslow United v Walton & Hersham
Chertsey Town v Camberley Town
Hanworth Villa v Horley Town
Hartley Wintney v Sutton Common Rovers
Raynes Park Vale v Bedfont & Feltham
Spelthorne Sports v Farnham Town
Westfield
v Badshot Lea
Windsor v North Greenford United
- With all promotion/relegation probably done/dusted, there were two ‘end-of-term-feel’ 3-3 draws in the Premier this midweek – bottom club B&F holding 2nd placed Westfield and Knaphill sharing 6 goals with CWU.
CCL1
Ash United v Balham
Bagshot v South Park Reserves
Epsom Athletic v Worcester Park
Eversley & California v Dorking
Redhill v Cove
- Saw 2nd bottom Cove lose 1-2 on Wed evening at home to Ash – good quality contest between two struggling sides with little to play for. Cove dominated early proceedings but were pegged back firmly 2nd half by Ash. This fixture @ Redhill could be somewhat daunting for them
– the 2nd placed ‘Lobsters’ won (TWELVE) 12-0 the same evening at bottom club Epsom Athletic. They could catch leaders Banstead but would still need to make up a 16 GD and hope the leaders fail to register a point in their remaining three fixtures – very unlikely.
- rumbles that Athletic, the Chalky Lane ‘lodgers’, may drop out for next term as they are having difficulty raising an XI each week and certainly have not been anywhere near competitive again this season: only gained a total of 6 points (from 2 wins :1 home 1 away on the opening day – the home win vs Cove back in early October) They have conceded over 150 goals in their 31 games – 96 away from home in 16; double-figures on three occasions and 72 in the last 10.

Staines Lammas v Cobham
CCL1 Cup Q-F
AC London v Frimley Green

HELLP
Brackley Town Saints v Thatcham Town
Highmoor-Ibis v Brimscombe & Thrupp - H/I got a creditable 4-2 win over Highworth at Scours on Wed night- ensuring they finish outside the bottom four places occupied by Ascot, OC Nomads, Burnham and relegated Henley.
Lydney Town v Ascot United
Tuffley Rovers v Burnham
- Some consolation for runners-up Bracknell as they lifted the B&B Trophy on Tuesday at Stag Meadow with a 2-0 win over Binfield.
HELL1E
Finchampstead v Wantage Town Res
Headington Amateurs v Wokingham & Emmbrook
Rayners Lane v Chinnor

- watched Woodley’s win over 9 man Chinnor at Rivermoor/Scours on Monday evening. It sees them assured of 2nd spot and promotion. Does actually appear as if the landlords (H/I) are doing a bit of groundwork around the place - some gravel in-fill out in the Car Park - and clearance/landscaping of sorts on the approch to the seated stand. Clubhouse is still on the 'spartan' side - Bar seriously lacking stock - though mercifully the draught Carlsberg is still OFF! :twisted:

– Penn & Tylers edged past Chalfont Wasps 2-1 the following night, to almost certainly be crowned as divisional winners and in consecutive seasons. Got a bit ‘edgy’ as Wasps, who have an exhausting end of term schedule, they play again tonight (Thu) at home to Holyport, trailled 2-0 at HT but reduced the deficit and then had a late penalty saved. Attendance was an eye-watering 167 - approx. 100 above P&T's average.
- Penn now sit three points clear of Woodley with a 29 goal advantage – both sides have one league game remaining.
- Sadly Penn & T cannot be promoted currently, as they have no lights.
- I s’pose that is good news for Burnham although the Premier Divison is a running couple of teams ‘light’ for this season, so there was probably only ever likely to be one team relegated for the 2017/18 season
- I think the FA would like all STEP05 leagues to be 20 teams minimum – for 16-17 the Hellenic only had 18 (Carterton folded a few games in and Sarries – sensibly - declined promotion) – promoting any graded clubs from Div One would only dilute their numbers below a sustainable STEP06 level as they currently have 14 & 16.
- There some ‘green shoots’ though as the Hellenic Division TWO leagues (also East/West), in the past predominantly for Reserve/Dev sides, have had a significant upturn in the number of County level senior sides joining and applying to join. (Lynchpin, Chalvey WM, Moreton, Bourton, Faringdon, Stokenchurch etc) . They still bring the perennial grading issues though, as some of these rural and suburban clubs have few facilities to rise above STEP06

HELL1W
Abingdon United v North Leigh
Milton United v Fairford Town
Shrivenham v Letcombe

Bluefin Sport Hellenic Supplementary Q-F
Bicester Town v Penn & Tylers Green
Chalfont Wasps v Ardley United

B&B Intermediate Final
Marlow United v Woodley United @ Larges La Bracknell FC

WESSP
Alresford Town v Cowes Sports - Town likely to finish in a very respectable 5th and may have put their recent grading issues with the Council behind them
Andover Town v Moneyfields
Whitchurch United v Fawley - potential relegation settler between 3rd & 2nd bottom – Verwood already down
WESS1
Alton v Totton & Eling
Andover New Street v East Cowes Victoria – New Street could climb above Vics with a win and Hythe & D are within reach too, to give them a glimpse of finishing outside the bottom four for only the 2nd time in 11 years since joining the Wessex!!

Baffins Milton Rovers v Hamble Club 2nd vs 1st - think I’ve read both clubs promoted for next season - which is some achievement for two newly promoted sides but perhaps shows up an inherent weakness at STEP06 in the Wessex. Six of the bottom five, have conceded over 100 goals. Last season’s bottom three are likely to be the same clubs.

Fleet Spurs v Ringwood Town
New Milton Town v Pewsey Vale
Weymouth Res v Tadley Calleva

Gonna need some help understanding this from the non-league experts around here, but I notice Poole Town have just announced they won't be eligible for the playoffs come the end of the season (along with Darlington up North)

I saw some mentions of ground issues surrounding Hungerford but they've seemingly got approval, so does this mean Hungerford are suddenly thrown into the playoff places with just a few games remaining?

If Hungerford are definitely in then that ends Wealdstones play off challenge for another year. They will never make up 8 points in just four remaining games. Wealdstone have ground grading issues as well that would have prevented their promotion. The Stones have been rushing to build a new stand just in case they make the play offs.

Poole Towns ground isn't up to National League Conference standard and they won't be able to get it up to standard in time. So even though they are in the play offs they won't be eligible for promotion. I believe Hungerford will take their place in the play offs if they can stay ahead of Wealdstone and Hampton & Richmond.

:shock:

That would make for a remarkable rise and one brilliant season for Hungerford, even if they didn't make it further than the play off semi

For the record the top of the NatSouth currently is

1 Maidenhead United 38 - 89
2 Ebbsfleet United 38 - 84
3 Chelmsford City 38 - 75
4 Dartford 38 - 75
5 Poole Town 38 - 70
6 Hungerford Town 38 - 66
7 Hampton & Richmond 38 - 62
8 Wealdstone 38 - 58

http://european-football-statistics.co. ... eengnl.htm Average Attendances of Non-League clubs this season

Shows how insane it would be if Hungerford were to step up into the National League, their average attendance this season is 296, which ranks them 42nd out of the 44 clubs at Step 2. Even more remarkable is this is a 98% increase on last season, with only Salford City and Slough Town in the first four tiers of non-league having a higher percentage increase in 16/17.

If Tranmere don't go up and the Crusaders miraculously do they'll be facing a Hungerford side who they dwarf in average attendances 16 times over, it really is an incredible achievement so far to be in this position for such a small town/club

Absolutely. Reading fans living on that side of Reading towards Hungerford should get behind them and support the local non league club.

My local non league club is the Stones and I have to admit that I look forward to their games now just as much as I do the Reading games. Wealdstone have a good little support and they create a very good atmosphere. It's quite a hostile environment to play your football. As much for the Stones players as the visiting side. The fans certainly don't hold back what they think.

It's just like football from the old days. You don't have to plan anything. You can just show up, stand with who you want. Make a noise. They have damn good burgers and pies on sale and it's only £8 to get in. Kids are free. And there are pubs around the ground.
I might get a Stones season ticket. It is just £75 if you are a season ticket holder of a Football League Club. That means it would cost about £3.50 per match.
