Commentator on 5Live just said that Tiote's leg bent like a stick of liquorice.

Ooooh, that'll cause some handwringing somewhere.

Sadly, it's the daily mail, however, Carlton Palmer manages to gethis message across without sounding sanctimonious.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (this hard-done-by, downtrodden thing is getting a bit tedious) and I would have been England captain for twenty years if i were a footballer.

Lets all put on the new horsehair England shirt

Ince was only ever a fill in skipper wasn't he?

Surely the proper captains in Campbell's time were Shearer and Beckham.

Obviously Campbell's claims are pretty baseless, especially as the next in line for most of his England career were the likes of Adams, Pearce and Ince, all typical captains who did the role at their clubs.

What year did Campbell disappear at half time during a game? - maybe attitude like that was more the reason he didn't get the armband

It really is poor form from Campbell. A person who quite clearly wasn't mentally stable during his playing career, now crying wolf. One can only assume he has some sort of agenda, much like Jason Roberts, to get himself in the media spotlight.

I noticed an article in a popular red top today regarding the Campbell story whereby there is a quote from Jason Roberts saying he has received monkey chanting in games over the last two seasons. Considering he hasn't played for the best part of two seasons, one can only assume he means the back end of the Championship winning season. Can any of you recall these 'monkey' chants? Maybe he's getting confused with the noise Reading fans make when you win a corner?.

Roberts says: "I've had it from people in the street, I've had it from teammates, I've had it from managers, I've had it from coaches, I've had it from crowds. I have had monkey chants in the last two, three years."

Dunno. From the away end, It's not particularly easy to hear everything the home fans are saying/shouting at a football game. If you ever went, you'd know that.

no, but if you are in a noisy away end you are pretty unlikely to to hear things being chanted at your players by opposition fans unless it is done by a large number of them.

He also names 5 places he heard it from with the crowds being only 1 of them.

edit - what he said ^

lol at these retired black players wishing it was still the 70s/80s so they could get some cushty campaigning jobs that were actually important instead of trying to make things up and craving more issues to beef about.
