 yeah, isn't it tradition for the holders to be from the lower reaches of the football leagues?

I wonder how many of these #SpiritofShankly Liverpool fans will stick to their principles and boycott the final. Tickets range from £40 to £100.

It is a competition that Liverpool have historically done well in and this will be their 12th final (more than anybody else).
I bet fans of clubs like Man Utd, Arsenal,Spurs and Chelsea would like their clubs to be taking part in a Wembley final this season but at least 2 of those will be nowhere near Wembley in either of the cup competitions.

BTW on the point of nobody being interested, judged by teams put out do clubs now treat the FA Cup as a competition for their Reserves just as they have often done for the League Cup?

No disrespect Victor but apart from Spurs (and Liverpool), all the other clubs you've mentioned have won the Premier League. So the league cup rates a little lower on the priority scale than that of Liverpool and Spurs.

But (obvs) only one of those can win it this season and only Spurs and Arsenal have a chance.
A fair point though, but owners do love trophies.

Liverpool supporters' groups are planning a walkout protest during Saturday's Premier League match at Anfield against Sunderland.

The Spion Kop 1906 group - backed by the Spirit of Shankly (SoS) - have suggested fans leave their seats in the 77th minute in protest at the £77 top-priced ticket in the new main stand.

The club have announced the increased price, up from £59, for next season.

An SoS statement expressed its anger at "no explanation" from the owners.

The statement added: "The outcome is extremely disappointing and a missed opportunity for Liverpool to lead in a fairer approach to ticket prices.

"We believe it is right and fair to lower ticket prices in order to sustain our support and subsequently the atmosphere inside Anfield."

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre highlighted the freeze or decrease in 64% of season ticket prices and 45% of matchday tickets

Good on them I guess.

The cost of football is getting ridiculous really and if clubs don't realise it it'll harm football fans up and down the country.

It's fine for the top clubs who have the tourist trade to pick up occasional tickets and mean that the likes of Old Trafford, The Emirates and Anfield will always be full, but fleecing fans who want to go every week like this really isn't the way for football to look after its long term future.

Tbf to the club - and Im absolutely for lower ticket prices in general - it seems they have tried to capture both ends of the market, by reducing the prices of almost half of their tickets, but increasing premium prices to capture additional revenue from those day-trippers, and then been criticised for the latter.

Man walks into a pub. Orders a pint. Moans about the price. Drinks 3 quarters of it. Then leaves. That is not a protest. #EnoughIsEnough
