It's the Chelsea way.

I remember Winston Bogarde with great fondness*

* For those not in the know, made 9 appearances in 4 years at Chelsea, all in his first season and quite doggedly sat in the reserves for 3 years, collecting his obscenely huge wage and refusing to talk to any other club about a transfer.

Wasn't that before he made those Doctor films?

Had to laugh at their new manager the other day when he was whining about FFP forcing them to sell Gallagher.

Turkish Super Lig kicked off over the weekend with the big 3 all winning

Fenerbahce beat Adana Demirspor 1-0, who played 15 year old Deniz Eren Dönmezer in goal. Apparently he put in a pretty impressive performance.

6ft 3ins, at 15 years old. Was his second appearance, he debuted at the end of last season.

Segunda kicked off last night with 1 match, with a bunch of others happening today.

Cadiz & Eibar are favourites to go up. El Franchiso and my boys FC Cartagena are 3rd favourites to go down, which I feel they will beat. They had a very 'ding like season last time and in the 2nd half were one of the best teams in the division. The manager has quit and joined Levante, BOOOOOOOO, but they have appointed Abelardo, who last managed Gijon in Segunda, and before that Alaves in La Liga

newly promoted Malaga are favourites for relegation, which has surprised me a bit. I feel I have missed a story there as when they got promoted seemed to have a lot of positive vibes around them over how they could push for consecutive promotions

Deportivo La Coruna back up into Segunda too

Feels to me like more and more clubs are willing to play these supremely talented young players. Mbaye now the youngest player to represent PSG, beating the record of his teammate Warren Zaire-Emery, who is 18 years and 5 months old and has already played 75 times for the club.

Not quite as young, but Juventus kicked off the season with 20 year old Samual Mbangula making his debut, scoring a goal and getting MOTM. Some good opening day results in Seria A with Milan drawing, Inter drawing and Napoli losing 3-0 to Verona.

In Portugal after 2 games, Concalves & Gyokeres, both of Sporting, have 3 goals each already.

Cartagena started the season with a 3-1 loss in Segunda, having gone ahead. Promotion favourites Cadiz had a shocker losing 4-0 at home to Zaragoza. Always had a soft spot for Zaragoza and their never ending failure to get promotion. Maybe this will be the season!......(it's never the season)

**Non Europe**

Boca Juniors knocked out of the Copa Sudamericana last night, in a game where they had a player sent off for a bad tackle after 10 seconds

Looks a bit harsh to me

It looks accidental and fairly innocuous in the first angle but it's late, nowhere near where the ball was, leading with the studs and there appears to be a second movement down after he makes contact so could definitely be interpreted as a stamp.

Death, taxes, and Leverkusen scoring winners deep in added time.

After their unbeaten run in all competitions ended at 51 games in the Europa League final, Leverkusen now stretch their unbeaten domestic streak to 42 matches, of which 35 in the league - albeit they will have to go unbeaten well into next year to start to threaten the list of longest runs in domestic football without defeat. The record for the 'big 5' leagues is Milan's 58.
