I think it's more that he doesn't want to leave the Bridge and fears an unfair election will mean precisely that, but I could be reading too much into it.

Would be a massive shame seeing Chelsea leave The Bridge. Would probably be the final nail in the clubs change of identity over recent years. This is not a dig at the club either because I actually don't mind them, but knowing alot of Chelsea fans and being good m8s with one who follows them all over the country but can't stand what they're turning into I think it would be a shame.
Mind you saying that the English game as a whole has lost most of it's tradition anyway so fans who think this way don't really matter much anymore tbh

No Fixed Abode Sounds to me like that fan is upset because he isn't profiting from the club.

Is that it ? Don't you have strong views on the subject. If this was Reading I would be up in arms.

Doesn't Ken Bates own the penthouse apartment on top of the stadium, not sure on the merits of this, but didn't he sell the club but not the apartment, thus rendering any move, unless they pay him top dollar for the apartment.

Move from the Bridge? Can't believe Chelsea would be willing to just dump 8 years of history like that

Of course he doesn't, he's an armchair fan, who has no interest in anything other than bragging rights.

The rumour here in West London is that they're a nailed on certainty to take the space in White City the beeb moving out will create.

TBF I think it'd be a good move for them, and there's only so big the Westfield expansion needs to be. If that happened perhaps Fulham could take the Bridge :?:

Interesting you talk about your m8s who "can't stand what they're turning into" - for me the tide turned well over a decade ago with Chelsea (and they're not alone in this, inevitable really given that football became so much more commercial so not having a dig, I've nothing against Chelsea at all) - but I take it they've not been fans all that long?

You are, of course, right. What was I thinking in asking a Chelsea fan for his opinion on an internet chat forum :|

No problem with that at all m8, it was going down the Ian Royal route that did you no favours.

The m8 I mentioned who goes all over the place to watch Chelsea (but won't go to Stamford Bridge) is 23, born and bred Chelsea. The old skool mentality I suppose comes from his old man, who decided he'd done his time a long while ago.

Chelsea at the old Beeb site...QPR (literally) a stones throw away?

Interesting

Don't see as the proximity to QPR or any other club makes much of a difference to be honest, the catchment areas for premier league clubs are huge these days.

We're talking about moving 3 miles up the road - most fans commute from a greater distance away than that anyway.

I'm sad to see the beeb slowly moving out of W12 but I'm as happy with Chelsea moving in as anyone else.

:?: Kes isn't the one doing the fishing there.

I dabble very occasionally. I appear to have got the wrong catch though.
