Franchise FC Stranded Prob not the right thread but can't be bothered to start a new one:
Man City start legal action against PL spending rules in particular the rules around sponsorship money. Clearly a tactic to try and discredit charges and take PL legal team focus away from the case against them.
Lovely club.
This has been said many times, but who decides how much sponsorship is worth ?
If the rules say it’s the PL, then it’s a really, really stupid rule because only the sponsor can truly decide whether £10 or £10m is the right answer.
Whilst it’s a different sport, who in their right mind thought throwing $40m dollars at a 19 year old Tiger Woods was good business ? However, the proof was in the results and they made an absolute killing (not least with the chip in at the 16th at Augusta)
On that basis, what price the worldwide exposure gained from Man City in the last decade.
Depends what aspect of it they're arguing about, can't see any football league saying that member clubs aren't allowed to accept extra large sponsorship deals, if that is what some mug company wants to do, but it might be something along the lines of not being allowed to include all sponsorship as income or not allowed to have more than x sponsorship deals etc.
As said though, all smoke and mirrors to make things as difficult for the PL as possible. They really should be thrown out of the league now until all of it is sorted.
They really must be one of the most despised clubs in football because of all this. Really need the FA and UEFA to be backing the PL up but they're just spineless when it involves bigger clubs.
