BRO_BOT Yeah, they ran on a shoestring with the second most expensive goalkeeper ever, one of the most expensive CB's ever. They also got gazumped on Caicedo (117M Euros). They've bought some excellent value players, no doubt, but let's have it right!

Nunez: 85
VVD: 84
Szobozlai: 70
Alison: 62
Keita: 60
etc

figures in euros from transfermarkt

Think you'll find many of their purchases are supported by their player sales which and helps explain why they don't get into bidding wars over the likes of Bellingham or Mbappe or whoever the latest hot stars are.

Their recruitment has been first-rate but they have spent a lot of money on players it'd be pretty difficult to oxf*rd it up...

Big fail Brobby.
You have gone all St p. or OMA mode by stating something that nobody said , i.e. "they ran on a shoestring" when Sutekh said nothing like that and just made the statement that Liverpool is a well-run club.

Saying "well run" is majorly different from "ran on a shoestring".

With your unnecessary attempt to discredit frimmers elsewhere you have really had a pointless afternoon of creating hassle where no hassle should have existed.

Why do people like you waste your time posting that sort of stuff, are you bullied IRL?

Go back and read the constant slagging off of Utd you do. I don't think you're aware of how much you do it.

Had they bought Caicedo they would be one of only four prem clubs to have spent £100M+ on a player. Add in a couple of world-record signings and it's a bit rich to make out they don't do what other big clubs do.

It was Sanguine's quote from LFC that I was replying to. I used Sutekh's post to set up a joke against my own club and how it was poorly run.

So...maybe wind your neck in you old pcunt!

The point with Liverpool is that they've spent well and sold even better.

They've also considerably improved their stadium without it breaking the bank or being a financial millstone.

What happens now? Everton can't be in the greatest financial shape and another buyer isn't going to complete a sale quickly.

They are officially "assessing all options for future ownership". Which presumably means they have no Plan B.

One would assume. They were up to the eyeballs in debt and only functioning due to the loans 777 gave them. I assume 777 are going to want that back so more debt for any new owner to handle.

John Textor / Eagle Football* are reportedly interested. He just needs to flog his 45% stake in Crystal Palace first.

Lyon, Botafogo in Brazil, RWD Molenbeek in Belgium.

Watford are crowd funding for investors.
The promotional material is full of misleading statements, such as they are the fastest growing club in Europe.

Someone is going to get sued....

Prob not the right thread but can't be bothered to start a new one:

Man City start legal action against PL spending rules in particular the rules around sponsorship money. Clearly a tactic to try and discredit charges and take PL legal team focus away from the case against them.

Lovely club.

This has been said many times, but who decides how much sponsorship is worth ?
If the rules say it’s the PL, then it’s a really, really stupid rule because only the sponsor can truly decide whether £10 or £10m is the right answer.
Whilst it’s a different sport, who in their right mind thought throwing $40m dollars at a 19 year old Tiger Woods was good business ? However, the proof was in the results and they made an absolute killing (not least with the chip in at the 16th at Augusta)
On that basis, what price the worldwide exposure gained from Man City in the last decade.

Depends what aspect of it they're arguing about, can't see any football league saying that member clubs aren't allowed to accept extra large sponsorship deals, if that is what some mug company wants to do, but it might be something along the lines of not being allowed to include all sponsorship as income or not allowed to have more than x sponsorship deals etc.

As said though, all smoke and mirrors to make things as difficult for the PL as possible. They really should be thrown out of the league now until all of it is sorted.

They really must be one of the most despised clubs in football because of all this. Really need the FA and UEFA to be backing the PL up but they're just spineless when it involves bigger clubs.

OK, what then happens if ultimately no charges stick ?

Yeah, you can't stop them from competing whilst they are innocent. Imagine the court cases if they were forced to sit a season or two out and were then found not guilty on all counts or only on some of the lesser charges and were only fined or had a small points deduction.

This very much feels like the last roll of the dice by a club who know they are going to have the book thrown at them. They broke the rules, any one who has read all the emails that are in the public domain can easily draw that conclusion - so they feel their only path forward is discrediting those very same rules.

It does feel as if it's a distraction technique, but I have no faith that justice will be done to the benefit of football as a whole.

Think most fans and pundits wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see them get off, just have to hope the authorities have the backbone to properly see it through.
