Supporter protests starting to break out at Swindon over their owner (Clem Morfumi), say he’s been driving the club into the ground over his 3 years at the helm. Club is has been sinking over the last few years and is now desperately looking over its shoulder at a real prospect of the non league next season. Fans want him gone asap.

In some ways things there seem to be as dodgy as the French League, which appears to have largely been sold to Qatar while everyone who isn’t PSG quietly falls apart

My favourite bit of shambolic French football was when the league gave the TV rights to the same person that owns PSG, and he then refused to pay out on the deal to clubs during the summer, meaning all PSG's rivals were short during the transfer window, then he made a payment after the window closed but paid less than was due, saying he could no longer afford it

The only league that ever seems to have followed through with the correct punishment for a big club was Serie A when it relegated Juve.

SPL and Rangers? Though hardly a big league admittedly... but a big club (for the SPL)

SPL and Rangers? Though hardly a big league admittedly... but a big club (for the SPL)

Possibly fair but I think the rules at the time should have seen Rangers expelled from the Scottish League entirely i.e into the Highland League for example - because they went bankrupt - the Rangers that play now are technically a different club.

It would be hard to make a cogent argument about them starting any lower than they did though.

Apparently Olmo's contract has a clause which says if they can't register him to play then he is free to terminate his contract, and he gets paid up the full wages of the remaining 5 1/2 years. And Leipzig were so concerned they may not get the add ons from their sale that they also added a clause to their deal which said if his contract gets terminated then they receive the full payment of €62m.

I think the Bundesliga historically have also been pretty ruthless in their handling of financial mismanagement.

31st Dec was the deadline for all PL clubs to file their PSR paperwork for 23/24 season

The Premier league have 14 days after that to charge any club with a 'simple breach'. If any club falls into what they class as a 'complex breach' then they have longer.

Your man on the radio said no matter which breach it is, we are likely to know by the middle of next week any club that has fallen foul of this ruling, and said the clubs to be on the lookout for are Leicester & Chelsea, but said Chelsea's would be all about how much accounting trickery they had done (selling things to themselves etc) to make up their massive losses
