Winston Biscuit It blows my mind just how bad Spurs are, and their manager is, yet no one wants to talk about it, mainly because their manager says 'mate' in interviews and seems like a reasonable person

Spurs have just 10 league wins so far this calendar year. Here are who the wins were against and the league position that team finished in (the bottom 2 are this season so the league position they are in now)

Brentford (16th)
Brighton (11th)
Palace (10th)
Villa (4th)
Luton (18th)
Forest (17th)
Burnley (19th)
Shef Utd (20th)
Brentford (12th
Everton (19th)

Big difference is that I don't think Postecoglu makes excuses and is happy to call out the fanbase when they're being dicks.

I think the problem is Spurs, not Postecoglu.

I'd love to know how many times they passed the ball to Spurs in their own half of the pitch in the 1st half.

Must have been a dozen.

Get ready for Southgate (or Potter) Brobot.

With no exaggeration Spurs should have scored 7 or 8 such was their superiority and at least 4 before half-time.
Seeing Mainoo hooked I am wondering if he has been over-promoted by England and his reputation has been achieved based on one very good game and maybe he is not quite the new Rodri but the next Kalvin Phillips (who also got subbed at the weekend).

As for Ten Hag, it does look as though those very expensive players aren't fighting for him and although the sending-off for Fernandes may have been a bit harsh it couldn't happen to a nicer fella.

So , let's hope that the manager stays in the job.

One of the worst Man United teams I have seen in my entire life pretty much. A team devoid of any energy, desire and team ethic.

The calls for the manager to be sacked are ridiculous. The problem is with the group of players. Dead wood like Rashford and others who are just not up to it. They need a proper clear out rather than new manager.

But of course, we know what'll happen...

If you look at the big picture, there seems to be a dearth of managers capable of handling a club like Man Utd. Look at Bayern having to settle for Kompany.

I do wonder if Ten Hag will be allowed to limp on until the right candidate is available. Otherwise, you're looking at C list managers again and you'll have to give them a decent crack of the whip.

My work colleague, who has never been to a game btw, says "I'm just completely sick of it, I can't even watch them play anymore [on tv]. I wish we could go back to the good days".

This is why I don't talk about football with people like them. It's too hard to even explain my own club's situation as they won't get it.

Agree about the lack of candidates, at least those who are available. If you look at Arsenal, they gave Arteta time, he's been there 5 years now, and it's paying off with a really decent squad who are serious contenders for the league.

I don't get this view, he signed most of the players and they are a disjointed rabble with no discernible plan in most games, keep giving the ball away and have the worst disciplinary record in the league.

Added to which, they have the 3rd most expensive squad and only Southampton have scored fewer goals this season.

Ah, I didn't realise he signed most of them to be honest

There are still several players remaining who have had previous managers sacked (Rashford, Shaw, Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Bruno). Who are United gonna get in to replace ETH?

In terms of playing style:
- They have reduced the number of shots taken by the opposition by at least half (table below) and
- have a high number of chances created.

The number of shots conceded (24)in the Spurs was more reminiscent of last season. Just dogshit from minute one in that game.

Team :: Result :: Shots Against :: On Target :: Eye Test
Fulham: won, 10, 2, not great but got the job done
Brighton: lost, 11, 4, should have won, Garnacho offside goal on the line
Liverpool: lost, 11, 3, deserved loss (more even than the scoreline suggests, however)
Southampton: 6, 4, deserved win
Palace: draw, 9, 4, their keeper was MotM
Spurs: lost, 24, 10, got fooking battered

Arsenal (your team) are above United in the worst disciplinary table btw

One of us must be out of date I guess,

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier ... bewerb/GB1

And I already told you to get ready for Potter or Southgate. Hardly left-field but them's the options.

Can't imagine the amount of mental breakdowns there'd be amongst ManU fans if Ten Hag was replaced with Southgate.

Why?

His record at England suggested that he’s the perfect candidate to come in, steady the ship and get some feel good factor back

Doubt he’d come in and make them title candidates again but they’re light years off that at the moment

Their midfield is so poor. So easy to run past (Tottenhams first goal?) and forever losing the ball in dangerous areas

TH did well in the first season with the midfield two of Casemiro and Eriksen but as soon as their legs went (which was always going to happen given their respective ages) the outcome was inevitable

The safety first football would be anathema to the die-hards who think Man Utd should always represent attractive attacking football.

Can't see them winning anything under him but, although I'm not sure the squad would be easy to get on side, he would probably (eventually) get them together as a cohesive unit rather than a bunch of individuals, and right now that would be a step in the right direction towards a possible Top 6 finish next season.

He's prolly a dead man walking but I'd still keep him. We've had a load of different managers, and none of them have worked

Moyes, (Giggs), Van Gaal, Mourinho, (Carrick), Ole, (Ragnick), ETH

I'd rather wait and see the project out

Was listening to Talk Shite in the car earlier and seems like RVN may be lining up as the next fall guy. No way he would have come to Utd as an assistant coach without some commitment that he would be in line if things continued to go tits up.

He was injured and had to come off!

He's a kid with 30 starts he should be fed into the team (think Foden) rather than Utd relying on him
