Stuka Never cared for Leeds but hopefully Brian can instil some class in them.

I don't think anyone can install class into Leeds United.

They've got Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow. BM is in charge. If they lose it and results go against them, they could be just two points away from the bottom three

Can't help but want Wednesday to win. Sorry Brian. It's a Leeds thing.

Cutting all the crap, I'd like to wish one of our very best ever managers Brian McDermott all the very best in his new job. He always had time for the fans at Reading and so deserves our unreserved well wishes. Congrats for falling on your feet in landing a job at a very big club in Leeds.

Despite what some of the halfwits on here are saying, McD is a very good manager. The players (- Guthire) loved him.
People forget where we were when he took over.
If you were to plot our average league finish since the war, it's probably around 50th in the league. Under todgers, we were en-route to get that again, but McD got us into the top 25. Admittedly, the top 17 seems beyond us at the mo, but there's no reason to think he couldn't have done it the season after next.
Now he's with Leeds, he'll get them together and playing for each other.
One idiot quoted that we'll get 6 points against Leeds next season. I fear we'll get 0.
Although Adkins is a more than competent manager, i don't see him as a step up from McD, so expect us to finish in roughly the position next season, but with us having spent more money.

Good luck Brian, wish you were still here and there more like you.

urz13 Majority of Reading fans when previous manager is appointed at a new club - 'Good luck Brian'

Majority of Saints fans when previous manager is appointed at a new club - 'F*ck off Nigel'

Difference in class.

Not getting that impression whatsoever, quite the opposite infact.

Really? The majority that use twitter must have been that upset that they couldn't bring themselves to post a tweet saying they were sorry to see him go... Only a couple did.

Like what Floyd said earlier.

Many congrats Brian on landing (arguably) the top job in the championship. Reading's loss is Leeds Utd's gain, following a truly imbecilic decision by poor little Anton, who is clearly out of his depth making decisions at this level.

I have mixed feelings for this.

I wish him the best but cannot stand Leeds and don't wish them well at all. Bad move for Brian, personally.

Leeds and class don't exactly go very well, do they. Like your name sake and football.

Interesting and charmingly honest he admits he has a point to prove against Reading, rather than denying that there are any hidden agendas. I wish him well, will watch him with great interest and hope his new club (and fans) support him and back him. A very decent man.
