Coppelled Streets SpaceCruiser A team that went bankrupt is more of a failure than a team relegated to the Conference.
I'm not sure I care, but how exactly?
I don't know the ins and outs of Aldershot's demise, but surely a team that goes bust and loses it's league status is nothing to do with the players themselves where as in Oxford's case, the players we shit and got the club relegated.
It's chicken and egg, though - perhaps Oxford's players were shit because the club's owners had buggered up the finances and shit players were all they were prepared to pay for!
Someone in the know told me that in Oxford's last season in the League the players' meal allowance for away matches was £30. That's £30 for the whole team, not each! They used to have to take it in turns to microwave a ready-meal in the coach on the way to the away match.
So no wonder they couldn't get the players to keep them up.
