oops for our David.

He was taken off at 0-1 and replaced by Reyes, who has immediately scored twice.

I'm not watching, but a little birdie did whisper in my ear that Mallorca were tiring badly from just about the point of Reyes' leveller.

Zaragoza level and back in sixth at the expense of Atletico...

And so, after all of that, nothing --with the exception of Villarreal and Zaragoza swapping into fifth and sixth, respectively-- changed.

I'm sure that it was all about the journey anyway, with the destination to be remembered as but a trifling afterROFLthought.

Oh, and well done to you, Dave. Good luck at your new LOLocation.

That's pretty cool, looks like regardless of their spending Liverpool need Seville to win La Liga if they're to break their own drought!

Very interesting and spooky Soggy.
Does it imply that big spenders win from each country or if not then low-spenders win from each country?
Reading and Villareal next season?

Lyon are away to Toulouse this weekend on the 2nd round of matches in the French season.

In Sweden Halmstads & Elfsborg are joint leaders after 16 games

Turkish & German seasons kick of this weekend

Also want to promote the below website. I have been using it for some time and always forget to mention it on here. Fantastic for when you want to pick up a local shirt from your holidays. http://www.footiemap.com/

La Liga is back this weekend.

Saturday
Murcia v Real Zaragoza
Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid
Sevilla v Getafe

Sunday
Athletic Bilbao v Osasuna,
Deportivo La Coruna v Almeria
Espanyol v Valladolid
Mallorca v Levante
Racing Santander v Barcelona
Recreativo Huelva v Real Betis
Valencia v Villarreal

Barcelona have in my opinion had a fantastic summers spending, not least by bringing in Yaya Toure who I expect to become a household name before long.

With regards to Madrid a lot of people don't realise that bringing in Robben is also about freeing up Robinho. He has never lived up to his potential since joining (though was much improved last year) and this should free him up to get back to his best. WIll be interesting to see what happens at the back with Madrid this year, there is a lot of rumours of Ramos (best defender in Europe last season imo) moving to centre back to partner either Cannavaro or Pepe, not sure about that though.

One team I will realy be looking out for is Atletico Madrid. Forever tipped to break into the 4 and forever failing it I do think this year they will. With Torres leaving they had a real shake up and have made some great signings. Reyes, Simao, Forlan, Raul Garcia & Luis Garcia will all be big improvements and Maniche is looking as good as he was under Mourinho.

Will be keeping a close eye on Giuseppe Rossi this season, really dissapointed to see Utd let him go and I think they could well regret it in the future. AC Milan tried to buy him but Villareal offered more Utd accepted it.

I believe United have a buy back clause should he do exceptionally well at Villarreal.

Sickening moment in the Sevilla Vs Getafe match just now when Antonio Puerta slowed up, croutched down and then just collaped on the pitch losing contiousness. Players immediately ran to him to try and do something, within about 20-30 seconds he was sat up again. I could feel myself going very pale watching it, for a second I honestly thought it was another Marc Vivien Foé situation.

Aside from that, absolutely cracking game so far, Getafe 0-1 up despite having 2 players sent off

Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 earlier

EDIT - They are now saying that Puerta has lost contiousness again and has been taken to hospital

The club have now confirmed that Puerta is on immediate life support in a local hospital having apparently suffered multiple cardiac arrests.

Former Wolves striker Ionel Ganea got off to a flyer of a season by getting his second red card in 2 games for Poli in Romania, he then decided to release some anger on the linesman, something tells me he won't be playing football for a while.

Puerta remains in a 'very serious' condition. Multiple heart attacks at 22? Jeez.
