The whole year inn Some of the figures on here are absolutely astonishing

Makes you wonder if anyone involved in running Newcastle has an ounce of common sense

Nope. Ashley showed that when, shortly after the takeover, he discovered that Newcastle's debts were far greater than he thought, and the same with the amount of future income they had mortgaged.

What sort of imbecile spends that sort of money buying a club without doing a proper due diligence?

According to a journo on Talksport this morning, Newcastle players return to training in 18 days time, not one pre-season game been sorted, no management team and a chairman who wants to sell. Anyone want to take the 5/1 about a return to the Prem. Erm............NO !

Could we see the first of the big teams fold?

Probably not, and I hope not. But Newcastle could be out of the big time for quite a while unless they start pulling things together.

Holy crap! To sum it up for the "I'm not reading all that" merchants...

Newcastle players are entitled to various end of season loyalty bonuses despite relegation that will cost the club a total of £10m.

And some players are on contracts that entitle them to annual increases in their pay regardless of their league position, so not only does nobody have a relegation clause stipulating a reduction in their pay on relegation to the Championship, some actually get a bloody increase!!!

Fcuking brilliant!

Be fair though; the report also says that they are looking to recruit new players to replace their leaving mega stars (cough).....only problem is, they are looking at players from the fake hoops!

NUFC are a train crash, and we are watching it happen in real time; I can see them really struggling this season.

LOL at their fans failing to grasp the concept of contracts on SSN just now. Players aren't going to pay back money just because your idiot negotiators didn't think to put relegation wage reduction clauses into their contracts.

I look forward to seeing them on Sky Sports, playing Leeds in the 3rd Division next year.

LOL just LOL

Sheppards get hounded out for 'killing' the club now he gets the messiah's return.

Most pathetic fans in the country. Normally I could not give two shites about what other clubs are doing, but Newcastle is just too much. I know it half the media's fault, but all this best fans in the country. They are just like any other side who think they are bigger than they are, fans turn every game if they are not winning after 20 mins, they are not even load. They are just an average club, with average fans.

Bids meet Newcastle asking price

Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias has claimed that at least two acceptable offers have been received for the club.

Owner Mike Ashley, who spent £134.4m to assume control in May 2007, announced in June that he would entertain bids of £100m for the Championship side.

"There have been more than two bids at £100m," said Llambias.

Amongst those to have previously enquired are Singapore-based Profitable Group and ex-chairman Freddie Shepherd.

A Malaysian consortium are also believed to have entered the running and reportedly inspected St James' Park and the club's training ground last week.

All bidders have to promise not to laugh before gaining access to the club's accounts.

Two months ago Newcastle United fans were queuing down the street to buy the famous black and white shirts.

But only three people were waiting outside the shop at St James' Park as the latest away strip went on sale.

Anyone see that Newcastle were slaughtered 6-1 by Orient?

And they put out a serious team

Newcastle: Krul (Forster 46) ; Beye, Coloccini (Geremi 46), Taylor (Tozer 80), Enrique (Kadar 73); Barton (Xisco 46), Nolan, Smith (Guthrie 61); Gutierrez, Martins (Carroll 46), Duff (LuaLua 73)

Friendly it may be but that must hurt.
