The 'sounds like a fcuking idiot' is a meme from Richard Herring. It's light-hearted, not entirely sure that's what you're doing.

If so fair enough, water off a duck's back
sorry ‘mate’ didn’t mean to upset you

I take it, she is a ‘fcuking idiot’ tho’

You're on a Reading FC forum Brobot, rather than asking moronic questions that highlight what a plastic know nothing you are about football, you could always skim a thread on what's going on

I read in Private Eye that united have put matchday tickets up mid-season, obvs that doesn't affect you Brobes but might the new regime be just as shit as the Glazers?

Still don't know why he took the job mid-season, absolute hiding to nothing.

Yeah, that didn't go down well. They got rid of 'concessions' rather than 'increase' the price i.e. a kid's ticket was charged the same as an adult's (£65), over 65's were charged the same etc etc

They may have changed that back after the outcry, not sure. The Glazers have taken $ 2 billion out of the club in dividends and interest payments so he's got some way to go to catch them

Disagree. The challenge was to improve on the 13th place he inherited.

Bit of a General Sport crossover but I look at what Ratcliffe has done with Ineos Grenadiers in the cycling and I do get the feeling he has absolutely zero clue about running a sports team.

What has he done? Is it worth looking up? If you cba to summarize it'd be appreciated

Yes, there's been horrible luck with injuries to marquee riders but in 5 years he's taken a team who were at the forefront of world cycling with a roster of young exiting riders, with an emphasis on growing British talent and a track record 12 grand tour wins in 8 years (including 7 Tour de France with 4 different riders), and turned them into a retirement home for aging riders who might pick up the odd stage win when everyone else can't be arsed and may sneak a rider into the Top 10 if half the contenders fall off.

I don't know how hamstrung he is by the Glazers but he seems to be doing a lot of ineffectual tinkering around the edges without actually addressing the fundamental issues at the club.

All he really needs to do is not he the Glazers to keep the fans somewhat inside but this removal of concessions just looks like a massive own goal. The whole story since his arrival seems to be all about slashing costs. And then there's shit like triggering Ten Hag's contract extension when he's already under fire and then sacking him 3 months later. I get that he'd won the FA Cup but that's small beer for a club with United's expectations. Trigger the extension in November if you're challenging the Top 4, not before

Cheers m8! That's interesting to know! I might have a further look into it

Are there any articles you could recommend? When I googled it was all Ineos PR
