mx I'm not expecting a lot today from Winchester City's trip to Merthyr - they have started the season well - a lot better than Frome from their league who we beat in the last round. Plus we have a stack of injuries. Apparently the pitch got a drenching on Thursday night, so possibly that will be a leveller. Fingers crossed eh?

Shows how much I know about non-league!
Anyway, 2 up at half time.

TheroyalboxSutekh Saw Slough beat Oxford City 2-0. Thought Slough were the better side throughout and should have had a couple before Oxford had their captain sent off for a debatable professional foul just before half time.
Impressed with their Lee Togwell, James Dobson and Matty Edwards (?, the no. 9). Thought Oxford were a good well organised if a bit limited side destined for a lower mid table finish but was impressed with their keeper’s performance (and that of their no 10, Kyan ?Wiltshire?). Think Slough might be good enough for top 10 based on yesterday.
Unconvinced by the referee, wasn’t quite sure he called the red card right and thought Slough had a better shout for a penalty in the second half then the one they got early in the first half.
Youll be talking about a certain Mathew Stevens, a cracking striker who was on Readings books now at Peterborough on loan to Slough. He is way above his level here and will fancy them to go on and have a great season, he is only on loan till January though, scored a hattrick this weekend

Highworth Town 5-0 Thatcham Town [i]- hat-trick for the returning Callum Mcghee–Parsons - one of the Worthians leading scorers in their astonishing early burst of form last season. He’s come back from Supermarine – not sure if permanent/loan or dual register – don’t think he can do the latter for a side in the same league?

Very good start to the season from Slough - top half of the table, defence strengthened by the arrival of Sam Togwell and as mentioned above Matty Stevens looking like a very good acquisition, if only until January. He scored a brace for Peterborough U23s in the week after the hat-trick at Eastbourne as well, but not able to add to it Saturday against Sholing. TBH, Sholing were more than good value for the draw, despite being several divisions below Slough and 2-0 down after about 25 minutes - I thought they were fantastic, and with Slough not being at the top of their game fully deserved the replay. Magic of the Cup and all that...

Sutekh Maidenhead won 3-1 at Chesterfield last night and with Chesterfield now 20th (or equal 21st) I reckon Martin Allen hasn't got long left up there.

Four Of Clubs SL1-C
Aylesbury v Kidlington
North Leigh v AFC Dunstable
Yaxley v Aylesbury United
- no game for Bracknell as their scheduled opponents (Egham) were drafted into the FA Trophy. Similarly Marlow without a fixture.
