LUX United up to ninth and only 15 points behind Liverpool.

Bet you’re glad you delayed switching allegiance to Liverpool or City now the glory days are back.

Is this about the leaked sex tape involving Anthony?

Leyton Orient jammed their way past Oldham. Went a goal down and equalised in the 99th minute through their goalkeeper. Next they missed a penalty in a highly comedic style before grabbing a winner in the 121st minute

I do think I'm going to have to accept now that this is Liverpool's title to lose. If they fail to get over the line from here, it will only be by losing four or five matches, because other teams won't go perfect.

Not that they look like failing at the moment - in the last few weeks, the German champions, CL champions and English champions dispatched for a combined 8-0.

This stretch of games, ending with City, looked so, so tough, but they are through it unbeaten. Which means they will probably now find a way to lose the Merseyside derby.

Konate should have been a big loss, but Gomez was superb against City. And TAA had one of his best defensive games in a long time, nevermind his ridiculous passing.

City have a chance to end their nightmare run on Wednesday, they face Forest at home.

Do LFC have a key player(s) who if injured massively affects the team (Salah, VVD)?

I don't watch them enough to know

I'm pretty sure you watch enough football to have an opinion on the matter.

But I'll play your game anyway. I think they'd miss Van Dijk. Arguably up there as 'best in the world' again, he is making it look easy, despite not being as quick as he was a few years back. It's all about positioning and strength, he has been immense.

Salah and TAA I think they can miss, in fact they didn't miss TAA, Bradley was excellent as cover.

Are other teams as over reliant on one player as City?

I used to but I only watch Utd games now.

I was thinking about Man Utd winning the first ten games in the 85/86 season before Robson got injured (as well as Remi Moses).

They finished 4th, 12 points behind champions LFC

To be fair to the United side of 85/86, they weren't the dominant force in English football and were more often than not mid table also rans rather than genuine title challengers in the 80s

A mid table team is more likely to be over reliant on one player and more likely to blow up in a title challenge.

Which one player are you thinking of?
Haaland, Rodri, De Bruyne?

The injuries seem to have caught up with De Bruyne who , for many seasons, has been the best and most influential player in English football IMHO.
That makes it bad for City, but good for the rest.

I had a bet on Rodri for the ballon d'or at 20/1 but one season too early.

Scintillating world class performance by Liverpool in the first 30 minutes yesterday and they were very close to being 3 up after 20 minutes.

A game of 2 sections:-
First 30 minutes all Klopp style
The remainder Slot style with his team controlling the game.

Loved the interview with captain marvel afterwards when he was so low key and rightly so after only one third of the season.
If Liverpool were to lose to Newcastle this week and at Everton in the derby then Arsenal could well be just 3 points behind.

I don't think it will happen but the lead, although impressive on paper, is the kind of lead that Arsenal lost (and famously in Fergie's time Newcastle did although not by losing so much) last season so a long way still to go .

Have Liverpool played anybody yet  (as we were hearing a few weeks ago) apart from the German and Spanish champions, last season's Premier League 1st and 2nd and this season's rest of the top 6 ?
