Royal Rother Off to Gloucestershire again today for Fairford v Windsor.
How the fixtures have worked for Windsor is crazy. In September we had 7 games, of which 6 were away, 5 of whom with journeys of circa 70-90 miles each way.
Then in 30 days from 27/9 to 26/10 we have just ONE game! One game!!?
And by mid September we had already played 2 teams Home and Away!
I can see that we may well be happy to have got the long journeys out of the way during fine weather but I’m not sure the fixture list has a huge amount of logic behind it. Home games are the lifeblood for non league teams and to have 1 home game in each of September and October is bound to make life difficult for Step 9 clubs.

Sutekh ...The run ins for teams last season were spectacularly ridiculous with Thatcham finishing all their fixtures about 2 weeks before Bracknell....

Try 2 days, not 2 weeks.
A lot of the Hellenic's fixture planning is open to criticism though, but there wasn't a lot they could do about the backlog of fixtures that Thatcham and Bracknell faced as it was caused by the weather and both sides cup runs. I know Bracknell had a few issues with a couple of games not being moved for them, but I'm not sure a lot more could've been done about those in the end.

Sutekh Bit out there then, could have sworn it was longer. Anyway my point is that while there was a dreadful build up of games the last Saturday of the Hellenic league season saw just one of the top 3 sides with a scheduled game which to my mind shows a bit of disorganisation to the fixtures generally. Luckily it didn’t matter but if there’d been a point or something separating all three then it could have been a little advantageous for one of them.

mx Getting knocked out of the FA Trophy mid-week was a bummer, but today Winchester City are through to the 4th (FOURTH) qualifying round of the FA (FA) Cup.
Excellent day - the club made a real effort around publicising the game, but the weather was a shit and must have put a lot of people off, nevertheless, 250+ people came down.
Early goal, one more after 20 mins and a late pen to see us through. Great scenes afterwards.
all down to the draw now. Hopefully a winnable home game, and the FA Cup proper. (we can dream)
The extra cash (15k) is a big deal for us, but more importantly, 100+ people came who don't normally. Hopefully they will come back.

Great stuff! Is that the furthest you have been?
Getting far in the early rounds can secure a clubs future for a couple years.

Apparently the club made it this far in 1954, so it equals the best ever run. Today was a home game against a side in the same division as us, so always one we hoped to win. Last round we beat Merthyr 4-1 away, which was something else. Who knows what the draw might bring.

Bonzodog Draw made for 4th qualifying round of FA Cup today. Quite a few local sides still left. Maidenhead have a tough away game probably at Chippenham. Winchester have a plum away trip to Torquay although they may have fancied a home tie
