Royal Rother
St. Brynjar Very poor from Arsenal.

I haven't heard anyone from Arsenal using it as an excuse but the commentators pre-game referred to a bug that had gone around the Arsenal camp, and that some who were starting the game were not feeling 100%.

If true, in the circumstances to get beaten 1-0 away at the reigning Champions by a flukey goal was probably not a bad outcome.

Flukey in what way?

I swear flukey is one of the words most commonly used incorrectly.

Probably just behind legend and epic

In terms of performance, not result. Ramsey is not a winger and Ozil was anonymous.

Not sure they lacked fitness ,more that they lacked Metersacker who has been a rock for them this season.
Apart from Rooney running everywhere like a headless chicken I thought Man Utd lacked the energy of seasons gone by and if Arsenal hadn't gone back to their old habit of trying to walk the ball in every time they might well have won the game.
The alarming thing for Moyes must be how much space Arsenal had.

All that aside, Fergie leaving Utd has been the best thing to happen to the Premier League in years. Great season so far.

I still hope Arsenal end the season trophyless though.

"Very poor" just ain't right though. it wasn't a great performance for sure, but it was a significant step up from what they've produced in many of the "big games" in recent years. And, but for the flukey goal that seems to totally change perceptions for some bizarre reason, most people would accept that the least they deserved from the game was a point.

St. Brynjar
Nameless Seems some of you need to rethink your ideas !

Respecting a club isn't just about what they did last weekend or last season. Liverpool are a pretty special club with a pretty unique history. Just because you weren't around in the days of Shankley, Paisley, Fagin and can't be bothered to find out that doesn't take away from an amazing period in football. The Kop was also a pretty special place for many years.

The Suarez incident was a pretty sorry time but doesn't in anyway detract from what went before.

Sky has a lot to answer for.

And Ian, check out the difference between a club and a team.....

When I was into The Tweenies and Blue Peter, maybe Liverpool still meant something to someone. Now they mean oxf*rd all. They fluked a CL win and since then they've gone into the wilderness as City and Spurs have emerged as genuine powers. I respect Paisley & Shankly in the same way I respect Harald Hadrada. I couldn't give a shit.

The bit near the end in bold. Hahahahahaha.

'greed.

A;though really the best thing this season is Spurs' over-spending shambles.

2-0 win tonight! Does anyone else think that if Arsenal had Bergkamp right now they would win the league with ease?

The goals they have in midfield is getting ridiculous!

I'd prefer to reserved judgement until after they have played Man City and Chelsea in the run-up to Christmas. If they come through those games with 6 points, they're going to be in a very strong position indeed.

2 points wouldn't do them much damage either.

Apparently Arsenal have a rule that the players must all wear the same shirt – short or long sleeved – that it is selected before every game by the captain.

Flamini's in trouble for cutting his sleeves off.

I quite like the rule tbh. Captain chooses what strip is worn and every follows him.

But it's not choosing the strip is it. it's choosing the length of the sleeve of someone else's shirt.

Surely if someone's really subconscious about their forearms, and the captain chooses short sleeves, it's going to affect their performance.
