3 veesinarow Assumedly, the FA will be charging SAF over his remarks about the linesman yesterday, in order to be seen to be even-handed and treting all managers equally after their charging of Fat Sam over comments he made about the ref against MU last week...but don't hold your breath.

They should, it wasn't even subtle.

Nailed on penalty so can understand the frustation. What realistically can they do to Fergie when charging him that would be some kind of deterrent (points?)

So, approaching the even-handedness again, Allardyce had every much a nailed-on pen as well and he's been charged...

Silver Fox What exactly did Fergie say?

That the lino had a Tottenham shirt on and invaded the pitch when Spurs scored.

Silver Fox What exactly did Fergie say?

From the Beeb:

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson accused assistant referee Simon Beck of denying Wayne Rooney a clear penalty as Spurs came from behind to snatch a draw at White Hart Lane. Ferguson singled out Beck for criticism after Clint Dempsey's late goal prevented United restoring their seven-point lead over Manchester City.

It is not the first time Ferguson has had a high-profile disagreement with Beck. In 2010 the United manager was furious when Beck allowed Didier Drogba to score from an offside position as Chelsea won at Old Trafford to take control of the title race.

“With Chelsea a couple of years back, he gave onside to Drogba and he was three yards offside”
"It was a clear penalty kick," he said "But there was no way the linesman was going to give that - he gave them everything. He had a really poor game."

On this occasion, Rooney went down after a challenge by Spurs defender Steven Caulker midway through the second half and Ferguson was angry Beck did not flag for a foul.
"I am disappointed with him - we have not had a good record with him," Ferguson told BBC Sport.
"With Chelsea a couple of years back, he gave onside to Didier Drogba and he was three yards offside. You remember these things because it is [in] important games and that was an important game today.
"It was a clear decision. And he was 10 yards away, maybe 12 yards away from the incident and he doesn't give it. And yet he gave everything else."

What happens if he gets charged? A small fine, banned from the touchline??

How much difference does that make in the grand scheme

Cheers vvv, I read it myself over lunch and don't think it's the same as Allardyce's comments, which actually questioned the officials integrity as opposed to Fergie here questioning his ability, fairly appropriately given the incident in question and I've got no reason to back him as a rule (glorious CWC winning times with Aberdeen excepted)

Of course he is questioning his integrity, just in a more subtle way.

He shouldn't really get away with it but the guy is so clever and so in control of what he says that he probably stayed JUST on the right side of the line and will avoid punishment.

You don't think saying "and yet he gave everything else" is a question of his integrity? What does Fergie have to say to manage it? "I'm questioning his integrity?"

The most alarming thing about Fergie is that he is aware enough to be able to remember the name of each and every linesman who has ever made an incorrect call against his team. Absolute stalker.

Real Madrid are forced to move large numbers of their own supporters and extend the away section as reportedly thousands of home end tickets have ended up in the hands of United fans. United fans who arrive on the day with tickets for the home sections have been advised to head towards the away section where stewards will direct them to their new seats.

Meanwhile....City are returning hundreds of tickets for domestic games.

Dont think this a surprise. Everyone knows United have an enormous world wide support. Glory hunters who are not Mancs. Liverpool have them to a lesser extent due to our success in the 70s and 80s. But im scouse. Are you from Manchester. I'm not trying to wind up i am genuinely interested.

Wasn't Maine Road closer to Oldham than Old Trafford?

If it's TMD and not a mate of his who occasionally uses the username then yes, he's from that part of the world. Oldham I believe.

So Greater Manchester but not Manchester itself. Oldham being a Town on its own with its own football team. Boundary Park will have been a lot nearer to his home Soggs. Not one for supporting his local team then.

Rumpole Swing and a miss

How ? I was just trying to establish if he was from the City of Manchester. If you are correct then he does not. Oldham being a town itself with its own football team.
