They’ll both lose. Maguire with goals at each end.

Orion1871 Queens Park keeper saves a 97th minute penalty to keep a 1-0 lead at Ibrox and knock the Gers out of the Scottish Cup.
well, that’s the end of the blue side of Glasgows season

Still in Europe, to be fair, but that is an unfathomably huge upset. Rangers had a pretty strong team out as well, maybe only 1 or 2 who aren't regular starters.

.
Looks like Scotland is also going to drop 3 places in the UEFA co-efficient which means they lose a CL place.. Celtic getting regular CL money has opened up a huge gap when it comes to the quality of player they can sign but the gap would be closer if Rangers' recruitment hadn't been so dreadful for the past 5 years.

The Scottish Premiership only gets a couple of CL play off spots anyway so it’ll be reduced to just one spot again.

The last 10 Scottish Premiership top 3’s, just the one Celtic failure.

14-15 > Celtic 92 - Aberdeen 75 - Inverness 65
15-16 > Celtic 86 - Aberdeen 71 - Hearts 65
16-17 > Celtic 106 - Aberdeen 76 - Rangers 67
17-18 > Celtic 86 - Aberdeen 73 - Rangers 70
18-19 > Celtic 87 - Rangers 78 - Kilmarnock 67
19-20 > Celtic 80 - Rangers 67 - Motherwell 46
20-21 > Rangers 102 - Celtic 77 - Hibernian 63
21-22 > Celtic 93 - Rangers 89 - Hearts 61
22-23 > Celtic 99 - Rangers 92 - Aberdeen 57
23-24 > Celtic 93 - Rangers 85 - Hearrs 68

Sutekh The Scottish Premiership only gets a couple of CL play off spots anyway doesn’t it?

Associations ranked 7th to 15th get two spots, 16th to 55th get one each. Scotland currently 14th, but barely ahead of Denmark and Switzerland.

Fwiw any change would be from 2026-27. Places in competitions for 2025-26 are already fixed based on rankings end of last season (when Scotland were 11th).

Scotland only got their second place in 2022 so looks like the co-efficient is reviewed every 5 years.

Its reviewed every year, coefficient is a rolling five-year measure. Scotland awarded a second CL place for 2021-22, based on performances up to end of 2019-20. In 2019-20, both Celtic and Rangers made it to the knockout stages of the Europa League, which was enough to bump them into the top 15.

I don't see Celtic going any further in Europe so Rangers need to go pretty deep in the Europa League and certainly go much better than the Austrian, Swiss and Polish teams still in Europe. In fairness, their best performances have come in Europe this season.

The UEFA website is pretty good for this

Lampard took over Coventry when they were just outside the relegation zone iirc. On a brilliant run and up to 8th now.

Gueye got away with one there…. hard to believe given the spanner of a ref is blowing for everything going and seemingly starting to lose it.

He can’t make up his mind, about 30 years ago he was a Protestant. I always thought he was a Quaker though.
