TBM I personally don't think it should have been a pen - the advantage was played and he missed the goal.

If he didn't jump over the keeper it wouldn't have been a dive, it would have been a foul and a pen

Stonewall penalty for me as with most other pundits. Another poor decision going against us. More evidence in favour of Jose about the officials. They're really stacking up now.

But pundits aren't refs.....the ref didn't give it and its not as if he missed it

But the majority agree it was a penalty. We know the ref didn't give it.

The majority agree it should have been a penalty. But it's been pretty consistent over the last decade that if there's no contact and / or you don't go down you'll get sweet FA. So it's entirely consistent for a ref not to give it.

It's like shirt pulling at corners. It's a foul and there should pretty much be a penalty or freekick every corner. Barely ever given though.

No but it shows its subjective....it wasn't a "clear penalty" if not everyone agrees it was/wasn't one

If it's for missing the likes of John Terry.......then yes you should be penalised

It's the 'intent'.

Which is why the Remy one was definitely a penalty. Remember when Gerrard wasn't touched in an FA Cup tie at Sheff Utd. He dived over the challenge and got the decision. The FA/ref came out and said it was the intent. So it's poor consistency from the FA again when the ref didn't award Remy the penalty.

The keeper didn't come out with the intention of bringing Remy down. He intended to make a save. In failing to do so he also put Remy off without making any contact - excellent goalkeeping I'd say.

If he comes for a cross, screaming "keeper's ball", flaps at it but misses the ball and by his actions puts the attacker off so it pings off the top of his head over the bar then that's not a foul either.

No real difference.

Good that you took time out to check that. I was incorrect. It was in the league. 2006.

Same with the Sheff Ufd v Liverpool incident I was talking about which was given.

And was so noteworthy because it was the exception to what was normal in awarding penalties.

Man up.
