Re: SPECULATION - Gylfi on sale for £6m

andrew1957 I just cannot help thinking that someone else will come in at the eleventh hour and scupper the Swansea deal.

The only thing I can think is that Siggy thinks another successful season with Swansea (whether they survive or not) will mean a big move for him next summer.

Yep. Plus he has had a good half season there, obviously likes the players and management, will be a priority for them and get games.

If he continues the same form for a full season, then the bigger teams will be sure to move in.

That's still a 100K advantage

So we could offer, say 3K a week more than Swansea with a guaranteed rise if we stayed up

I also doubt he'd come back here given the way he was sold.

I don't think he wanted to go, then suddenly he's told that we've got a load of cash for him and it's time to ship out to Germany.

Not really. He publically stated he didn't want to leave, and it didn't exactly work out for him in Germany.

However, I'm sure he understood it was the chairman and not McD, the team nor the fans that wanted to see him go.

HoneyRoastHoax http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/sigurdsson-agrees-permanent-swansea-switch.html

Swansea City have confirmed that they have agreed the permanent signing of midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, subject to a medical.

The Swans have finalised terms with the 22-year-old after a £6.8m offer was accepted by Germany side Hoffenheim and Sigurdsson is expected to undergo a medical this week.

Good work BigMike, good work

Still not a done deal .. Wouldnt be the first player to have gone for a medical and have decided on another club prior to signing a contract. I agree the chances do see slim however theres stil a chance

Farewell then Gylfi - I always harboured hope we'd sign you on loan or get you back permanently at some point. Seems Swansea had the balls to do it instead.

I really hope you're right BigMike. You're right it wouldn't be the first time deals have fallen through. Im just more worried as its not like hes not known to them. He already plays for them so if no one else comes in and it all hinges on a medical i can't see it failing. :(

Also its up to him if he would accept any other offers. He is on record saying that he was very unhappy in Germany he has been happy in Wales. He was also happy at Reading however he may have the same view as several other players that you should never go back.. Time will tell

We'd be about 10th and have to go on a massive good run to even get in the play-offs - no thanks

maybe, just maybe gylfi just fancies swansea more than us at the moment.
maybe its oxf*rd all to do with balls, or money, and just that he thinks he'll do better there, than here

suck it up

though clearly i will cry when i see him turn out for our wembley heartbrakers Vs us at the madstad in the prem

Should probably just have a Harte vs Gylfi free kick contest to settle the games between our teams this year

Friday's Legacy Sigurdsson is not coming back.

It's sounds like he'll be at the Mad Stad at least once next season.
