LUX Hate to say it, as a traditionalist/ old timer, but who really cares about the Cup ( if you’re no longer in it)?

It has been for also-rans for the past twenty years. Man U last season, for example. Spurs cannot even manage that.

If City go out tomorrow I'll be interested.

LOLeeds.

Meslier really is garbage - they'd probably be promoted now if they had a competent 'keeper.

It's quite astonishing how many poor goals he lets in. If they had Trafford in goal, Leeds would probably have sailed past our 106.

Quirk of the fixtures that Liverpool and Arsenal both play Everton and Fulham in their next two games. If Liverpool equal or better Arsenal's results in those two games they will need just three wins from their last seven games to take the title, goal difference allowing - or just two wins if one of them comes against Arsenal at Anfield.

Another real oddity in the fixtures. Everton's next five are against the current top five - Liverpool (a), Arsenal (h), Forest (a), City (h), Chelsea (a). A real test of their turnaround under Moyes, currently unbeaten in nine.

Palace's win at Fulham at the weekend was a continuation of their remarkable away form. They have lost just one of their last 13 away games, at Arsenal in the League Cup, and they haven't lost on their travels in the league since 21st October, at Forest. Indeed no opposition player has scored a home league goal against Palace since Ross Barkley for Villa on 23rd November. The only away goal they have conceded in seven games since was Marc Guehi putting through his own net.

(a) Aston Villa 2-1 (League Cup)
(a) Wolves 2-2
(a) Aston Villa 2-2
(a) Ipswich 1-0
(a) Brighton 3-1
(a) Arsenal 2-3 (League Cup)
(a) Bournemouth 0-0
(a) Leicester 2-0
(a) West Ham 2-0
(a) Doncaster 2-0 (FA Cup)
(a) Manchester United 2-0
(a) Fulham 2-0
(a) Fulham 3-0 (FA Cup)

They’ve still got to travel to City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs and Liverpool though so can’t see it holding out much longer :?

Hope they get a chance to avenge that Forest loss in the FA Cup final though.

They have a fantastic manager there, very underrated and could easily excel at one of the top clubs.

Away to Doncaster tonight, lose that and you would have to think they may well drop out of the top 3 before the season is through.

yep. They have got lucky a lot recently with those behind them also slipping up repeatedly. also 2nd Vs 3rd tonight which makes it more interesting

Walsall have had the most 2 sided season I can remember tbh. 12 points from the last possible 39 available. if they fell out of the top 3 you wouldn't have any confidence in them winning the play offs.

MK Dons are another team to have had a weird season. After 18 games they were up in an automatic promotion place, but since then have got just 4 wins from next 22 games and are in 17th place (only 4 points above 21st place)

Aberdeen's is pretty hilarious, tbf, although they have turned it around again in the last few weeks.

33 points from the first 36, and then 4 from the next 42.

How the **** is Tarkowski still on the pitch after that disgusting lunge. Might have taken the ball first but the speed he’s coming in makes it uncontrollable.

No idea. One of the reddest of red cards that.

It’s not even debatable.

Another VAR ref that should be suspended, doesn’t Tierney have a record of bell-endery?

“I have no problems with any referees, only you”, was Klopp's famous line to Tierney.

Was an appalling challenge from Tarkowski.

Howard Webb must just sit in a dark room some nights and cry. He was himself a very good ref. He is managing an absolute bucket of shite. How on earth do two referees decide that that isn't a red card? Now once again, Webb faces standing next to a gurning Michael Owen in a couple of weeks and apologising.

13 points required from 8 games for Liverpool. 10 points if one of their victories comes against Arsenal at Anfield.
