Jackson Corner I remember being outside Fratten Park after the 3-1 defeat in 06, some Pompey chav strolled buy and said "Your playing with the big boys now, get back to the fizzy league where you belong". Wonder where he is now?

Currently waving a £10 note at Tal Ben Haim I guess.

It seems bizarre to suggest that the mass of fans of different clubs would react differently to any given situation they find themselves in.

Portsmouth FC have oxf*rd as fans. So do Reading, Yeovil, Chelsea, Bury etc. etc.

So I want Portsmouth to fold for the long term good of the game, not to spite all their fans - they will have almost exactly the same percentage of fair minded decent people in their numbers as every other club in the land.

The fans argument is just bollocks anyway. The vast majority of genuinely dedicated Pompey fans would form the core support of a phoenix club and they'd have a hell of a lot more fun rising through non league lording their size over their opposition for the next few years than they would being shit in the lower leagues and in danger of going out of business for seasons still to come.

Don't watch the horse thrash around in agony on the ground whilst a vet tries to splint it's leg. Shoot the oxf*rd in the head and then start to train a foal.

What blaming a performance so bad that it makes Mass Sarr look like Messi???

It was so obvious that they could not give a toss about that game it was embarrasing!

Didn't they only lose 1-0, or am I misremembering and they shipped half a dozen goals?

Let it the oxf*rd go.

Yep, those defeats of ours at home to Bolton and Fulham were pretty appalling.

Obviously they weren't completely responsible for our relegation, they did however make it very clear that they weren't interested in contesting the Fulham game. Developments since mean that they wouldn't get away with it now.

Karma clearly thinks they have a debt to pay.

Birch sets Portsmouth deadline
July 24, 2012

ESPN can reveal that Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch has served notice on all players and staff that the club will shut down on August 10 unless high earners such as Kanu and Tal Ben Haim, owed a combined £6 million, accept compromise deals.

... until the inevitable announcement that Kanu and Ben Haim have both accepted deals and that Chanrai is now the owner once more. And within a week they'll be signing players with money that should have gone to the creditors, on contracts that will no doubt be way out kilter with their status.

Indeed after a 38 game season including 12 dropped points against Fulham and Bolton to then blame it all on Portsmouth not turning up for the last game of the season a week ahead of the biggest fixture in their history is simply idiocy i cannot even fathom

Except the terms of their golden share will prevent them from doing that this time. I kind of half hope they survive. The restrictions placed on them will just lead to a slower and more painful death.

I think Kitson has already agreed a deal. IIRC it's just Lawrence and TBH left on their books with Kanu close to a settlement of his demands.

I hear where you're coming from. My point was based on the fact that any money they spend - even if it's a few hundred grand - will be obscene given the endless trail of devastation that club has left in its wake.

TBH has released a statement today blaming the administrators for this mess. Claims he has agreed to forego £1.5m but they want him to give up £1.8m whilst still taking their full payment. If he does not agree they will liquidate.

Looks like Lawerence may have struck a deal to remain at the club on greatly reduced wages.

The real thing to watch out for is when Chanrai mugs the next sap he sells the club to just before it goes into Administration again.

An FAQ from the supporters' trust:

http://www.pompeytrust.com/index.php?op ... o-category

What does the business plan look like? When do you expect a return to profit?

In general terms, the financial forecast predicts a loss of £1.8m in 12-13, a profit of £4.5m in 13-14 and a profit of £0.2m in 14-15. The PST aim is to run the club on a self-sustaining basis, but the PST will always want to explore the possibility of other investment sources, which would enable PFC to progress. The opportunity to improve merchandise sales, catering and banqueting and advertising may well bring incremental profit opportunities to the club.

I guess that is based on promotion in year one because a £4.5m profit in League One would be ridiculous...

Trevor Birch has reached settlement terms with most of the players. Do you know what those settlement conditions are and can the Trust afford the settlement terms Mr Birch has promised the players?

The specific financial details of the player settlements agreed by Trevor Birch have not been made public. The PST is monitoring this situation in relation to the viability of its bid.

Wages being the biggest cost of a football club, and the PST have no idea what the potential wage bill is.

I almost want them to survive the week to watch it all happen again.
