TheMaraudingDog Benzema makes it look so easy.

That is 10 times more difficult to execute than Crouchs.

Its a good goal, a cracking goal BUT the majority of it is down to the quality of the cross from Ronaldo which had the right pace, spin, height - Benzema just had to direct it back across in to the other corner.

It's a class finish but not as hard as keeping the ball up miles out with your back to goal then having the awareness/sense of position and technique to swivel and hit a still ball from 25 yards back across the keeper into the top corner.

I reckon i'd have a chance of scorign Benzemas (albeit 1 in 100 attempts) but no chance of scoring Crouch's

Surely then the skill and cross become part of the goal which make it even more >>>>>>> the hoof from Stoke.

'greed. Crouch's goal > RVP's second against Liverpool > Benzema's.

The sagacity and expert punditry of a World Cup winner...who can argue with that? We can't, we've never played the game.

Crouch's goal > RVP's v Liverpool > RVP v Everton > Benzema v Osasuna

Much easier for Crouch to hit it in roughly the right direction. Hitting across a ball from a cross like that and guiding it accurately on the volley certainly is a tricky skill. I'll give you it's harder technique to hit it like that, but then that's not the same as a harder goal to score, or a better goal to score.

If Crouch gets it a bit wrong it just looks overly ambitious and goes a bit over or wide. If Benzema gets it wrong it probably squirts off elsewhere making him look stupid.

But you're totally underplaying the difficulty of hitting a volley like Crouch's which dips into the top corner, over the keeper, from so far out, having one touch to tee it up, on the turn, without really looking as you're doing it. Phenominal awareness and accuracy over such a long range in those circumstances.

Count the passes. 2 minutes from start to finish without a Blackburn touch. Trying to work out if every United player touched the ball.

Terrific goal, Carrick's movement off the ball in that whole move is absolutely first class.

It's not even the best goal in that game.

Well we all know that you prefer a hit and hope compared to pure technical genius.

I'm afraid TMD is right, Valencia's goal was a bit of a fluke - the football in Young's goal is sublime and the finish was intentional.

Im with Slammed on this - they were just simply passing it around amongst themselves with about 1 or 2 Blackburn players closing down. Blackburn were simply allowing them to do it in the hope they will fcuk up and they'd counter attack. IF the passing was done all in the Blackburn half then i would give it credit, but the majority of its in Utd's

Its pretty much exactly 2 minutes from getting possession to ball in back of net. To put that into perspective as soon as United got the ball you could run upstairs shag a bird then come back down room see Young score. In that time Blackburn hadn't touched the ball once.

Shame they couldn't work a proper opening and had to rely on Young hitting it in off the post through a crowd of players. Also you have to agree with earlier observations that all the passing was between Carrick and the back five and to be fair Blackburn were leaving them to it.

Nice gif though.

Rooney had more touches than Carrick. Blackburn wernt leaving us to it. They were 1-0 down and couldn't get near us.

Barcelona pass it around their defence, including their keeper, quite regularly. Apparently they're quite a good team
