I must say I enjoyed Jonathan Pearce's commentary on MOTD2

"TORREEEEEEESSSSS!!!"

Calamitous though. Can't help but feel sorry* for Joe Hart, being in bad form when you're England's no 1 must be one of the toughest positions in football.

*Not really.

If you're having an iffy patch as a keeper the last thing you want is Man City's defence in front of you if Kompany is injured. He may not be the best centre back in the world but has Lescott curled one out in the shape of the Falkland Islands on Pellegrini's bonnet? He's got to be a better bet than those currently playing.

SAT 28 SEP 2013
Aston Villa 3 - 2 Man City

City's defence just isn't the same without Kompany.

Manchester City
01 Hart
04 Kompany
05 Zabaleta
13 Kolarov
33 Nastasic
07 Milner
08 Nasri Booked (Navas - 66' )
25 Fernandinho
42 Toure
09 Negredo
10 Dzeko (Jovetic - 74' )

Joe Hart is having a shocker this season. He will be dropped for the weekend.

I can't remember who it was, but last season or the season before, someone on the radio said that Hart was becoming too cocky and will start to make mistakes that'll cost him his place in the team/england squad.

Well it seems that time has come. He now has to be strong enough to overcome it and it should hopefully make him a better keeper for it. He's only 26 so not even in his prime as a keeper yet.

So Man City, 2-0 down at the home of the European Champions and a team that has won their last 17 games at home, go on to win 3-2, and the press focus on the fact that they screwed up by not winning by more!!!!

:o

?

A manager didn't know what his team had to do to come top of a group and you expect the press to ignore. Even Andy Townsend would have known what a 4-2 win would have meant for the team; I can't remember anything like it before. It is difficult to care because it is only Man City, but can you imagine what it would be like if Arsenal or Man Utd had done that?

1996 when Man City were keeping the ball near the corner flag thinking another result was going their way and they would avoid relegation. The result wasn't going their way, they got relegated.

Having watched Milner win two penalties in the last few days, I'm sures it's not just me that suspects he's 'falling' for the penalties way before contact has been made?

He was clearly on his way down before contact today. But only on the slow-mo replay. Refs really have little chance of spotting that if contact is made.

City were outstanding going forward, almost to the point where they were pretty lazy defending at times. Supremely confident.

Definite pen but he made the most of it. If the leg was removed he'd still have fallen.

Fair play to Milner though, he's looked really exciting these last few games.

If you have made the plunge before getting touched it is a dive and Milner was definitely in full dive position before he clipped the defender's boot with his shin. Had he been a Man U or Arsenal player, loads the media would have crucified him, but because nobody cares about Man City he gets away with it.
