gazzer, loyal royal CheLOLsea match Liverpool's bid for Glen Johnson

They sold him for £4M less than 2 years ago. Massive LOLZ if they buy him back for £18M!!!

Bigger LOLz because he apparently prefers a move to Anfield, and will reject Ch£LOLsea. 8)

Not a great piece of business by Liverpool either, considering they didn't want to pay £8.5million for him in January.

and this is a sort of signing in the Crouch, Keane mould. A decent player, but not World Class.

Pompey will be lucky to get £10m, a lot of money still owed from Crouch, plus Pompey will prob accept a full payment on reduced terms next summer.

Sell Arboloa for £7m, not bad business.

Stoke linked heavily with Ashton, great signing if they pull it off, Pulis has a good record with players with not so great injury records, just look at Fuller.

Why is it all other clubs can sign players like this, when we were lumbered with Fae, Cisse, Kebe, Rosenior etc?

I can't believe reading fans still ask this question. Small club with no ambition, thats why.

Everyone else who has been promoted to the prem makes a go of it and tries to invest, reading didnt.

JM has plenty of ambition to sell a Premiership club, can't do that in the Championship. People on here justify our under spending by saying that it is good business, yet every other club does it different. It was just poor management....

Not *quite* true but they all end up relegated eventually. Some quicker than others.

Has every club that has been promoted to the Premier League since '92 subsequently been relegated?

With the exception of Stoke and Hull, who don't count, I can think of Wigan that haven't, have Bolton been back down since '95? Any others?

Yes, Bolton came straight back down and went back up and down again didn't they? I certainly remember us going up there in the shiny new Reebok Stadium around the time that Big Sam and that bushy tash of his took over.

That's fairly easy to check. Rule out Hull, Stok and the 3 going up and that leaves you with 15 teams to check on Soccerbase.

You can also rule out Bolton for certain. That's 14 clubs. Now take out Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Villa and Liverpool. That leaves 7 clubs. Will take about 10 minutes.

That's what he means (otherwise he would have included them in the next group of teams).

As a slight aside, IIRC, over half of the current clubs in Tiers 1 to 4 have been in the top flight since 1992.

Another one for CheLOLsea to crush. If Sturridge had half a brain he'd be off to Villa or West Ham.
