dean horrix legend Embargo lifted as chelsea have appealled, what happens if they lose their appeal?

It stands

But if they sign players in January and they are found guilty in February, should the ban not be from the original date,September, making the players they signed ineligible to play until the ban is over.

I'm not sure the CAS are considering their guilt, just the severity of the punishment. If the CAS found that just a fine is appropriate but they'd already missed the Jan window they'd have been unfairly punished.

Chelsea were always going to appeal - even if they don't think the punishment will be reduced. They stand to lose quite a few players to the African Cup of Nations - no January window could be a disaster for them.

No way the ban should be lifted for an appeal. You don't let someone out of prison when they appeal ffs. If they're appealing the severity of the punishment they are admitting guilt. There are clear precedents on the punishment and it should stand until overturned.
