not really, just count the home-grown "English" playersFrom Despair To Where? Great, a final between a club who are morally and literally bankrupt and a club that would be bankrupt but for the intervention of a rich sugar daddy.
The perfect advert for the English game then.
If Pompey win the final (yeah, I know, fat chance), my biggest fear is that htey will pawn off the Cup to pay a creditor

FiNeRaIn Thats why the English game is an absolute Joke. I wish Reading played in the bundesliga or the spanish league. English football fans are shite, the governing body is awful and completely money orientated and there is no competition in cup or leagues.
Best league in the world my arse

Big Foot Have to admit it does leave a bad taste in the mouth to see a club run as poorly as Pompey to end up in administration in the final of our proud cup

MessiahRoyal Lady Reel your neck in Jay. Slammed made a silly mistake in his post, Spacey is entitled to pick up on it if he wants. No need for you to go abusing him as a result.
Spacey jumps on anyone that mis-spells a word, uses the wrong grammar... he gives it, so he can take it. I'm sure he doesn't need his mum!

I'm struggling to get my head around how they can be punished in the league for essentially cheating yet in the same season face no sanctions in the Cup and manage to progress to the final.
Surely, a rule change is needed whereby any club in admin cannot compete in the cup competitions.

Personally to me its a turn off

PieEater So Pompey score from Dawson slipping over, then Spurs have a good goal ruled out, then Pompey get a penalty for a good tackle, that's some massive Karma. wtf did Spurs and 'arry do?
What's the betting that all those Pompey players with bonus clauses in their contract decide to waive them to play in the final.
It will be an interesting Cup Final deciding which team I dislike the least.

This was the start of the demise last time. When Gaydamak signed all the players last time they had a £1m cup bonus each, so as soon as they won the FA Cup Pompey had to pay out aound £15m

Skyline In normal circumstances they wouldn't have to win the cup anyway, would they? Given that Chelsea are going to be in the Not-really-the-Champions-but-however-many-teams-we-want-to-let-in League next year, wouldn't their Europa Cup place for winning the FA Cup go to the losing finalists? Isn't that how Millwall got into the UEFA Cup a few years ago.
Or have the FA and/or UEFA changed the qualification rules again?
