..if it was felt that Rhodes could cut it at Prem level..I'm sure the likes of Man Utd would be circling now ...

Man Utd bid for players they think could be Man Utd quality, no every player who might cut it in the prem!

If McDermott & Hammond think he's worth the price (whatever it'd actually be) then we should ut them some slack until the pair give us a reason to think they've got a weakspot for big money transfers.

Admittedly I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for Halford, Fae, Lita, Matejovsky, Rosenior, Mills et al and laying those fully on Coppell / Rodgers... which is unfair on them... but fuk em, they ain't at the club anymore.

I'll agree with Halford, Fae, and maybe Matejovsky. But the other did fairly well for us IMO!

Qualified short term successes at best. But then Rosenior and Mills are the two most disappointing players we've had since Ray Houghton, and the two most dislikable since Paul Bodin.

It's been said before, but Mills wasn't a Rodgers signing surely? Think I read a quote from him at the time saying that we made contact in May, which was before Rodgers was appointed.

Bit like Spurs trying to sign Gylfi atm..

Probably shouldn't admit this as know i'm in the minority but I didn't mind Rosenior when he was here, although he's soured things with his comments about the club since then.

I enjoyed the Matejovsky chronicle though. Could we have one for the Pog?

If we have indeed agreed a fee i think its a very good signing to be honest. I think he could be a very similar player to ALF and the step up could be the same too. I'd actually happily bet on if he signed and became first choice striker that he would probably get over 10 goals in the Prem. He's a natural finisher but as well as that is better in the air, stronger and better positioned than our current 'natural finisher' in ALF (who i still believe is a fantastic player FWIW)

Rosenior wasn't really a big money signing though, we gave them Seol (who is a great example). I think Bikey is our only other £1m+ purchase (Leigertwood?), and we all know how unreliably brilliant he was.

Who was it that PM'd me about this being worth putting a bet on? You could be quids in within the next 2 weeks. Now up to the respective players to agree terms.

Friday when you say respective are you saying Morrison is definitely moving as part of any rumoured deal ? there was talk of Antonio also being included so do you know if it is one or both of these ?

Huddersfield forum now seem quite adamant that he's staying put ...whether thats wishful thinking or more than that who knows.

Morrison definitely. Haven't heard about Antonio, but their fans want him! Players need to agree terms and Huddersfield will want a replacement before making an announcement.

You are getting very tedious

So I'm the only one that thinks trading our only defensive backup for our twentieth striker is a bad idea?

Pea..need 4 decent strikers ...last seasons goals for figure showed the need to get strikers in ....I don't think we have 4 Prem class strikers currently ...Pog and Roberts are but the jury is out on rest for me...equally not saying Rhodes is the answer and would have preferred Defoe .....and not sure Morrison is ready for the Prem either ...

I think we'll see McDermott's attention switching to defensive additions relatively soon.
